It seems CHIEF, LEGAL, PRESS & EXECUTIVE offices cannot communicate one script in UK, wonder how India third parties are managing their script LOL, oh no thats right, they actually have and always adhered to STRICT scripts, now I wonder which one they got sent from which dept :D

"I am who I am because of Orange, the futures bright - everything everywhere (ELSE!)"

^Quite amazing given circumstance you could make Orange's three straplines into such - well at least we now know they are fully capable of convergence, as usual, in writing, never action or practice :rotfl:
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

I would of thought the fact it makes part of the bundles shown on my mobile contract it forms part of those terms and conditions, and not those i signed 4 years ago, as it would of been part of my renewal.

It is...Sale of Goods, Unfair Contracts & miselling & if only one of you stop being sheep to Orange & get to citizens advice and prepare a small courts case......

Someone tak the lead, Ofcom, Orange & ADR are no good, you have less than a few weeks left now, someone take the bull by the horns.

  • Orange Stated that their Broadband was FREE FOR LIFE.

    Over and over in fact!

It was their core sales pitch!!

Are Ofcom, calling the tens of thousands of Orange customers who were told this, Liars?

    ...

Problem is before it gets to small claims the broadband will be cut off.... The money that is actually involved for myself, not fully understanding the correct processes and implications doesn't warrant the head space it requires to follow fully through. And looking over the past week at what other offers are out there or not out there more to the point i have totally lost heart in the whole thing and are starting to think maybe a £3.25 increase per month is a deal i should be doing with the devil.

After saying all this i have just seen their landline contract is 18 months and its annoyed the hell out of me again

  • Like many others, I have the offer that was taken up in September 2006. I have been waiting for my letter/email/whatever because I am moving house this week, and need to sort the phone and BB.

I'm with BT line rental saver until December, not tied in, but if I move with them for the rest of the LRS period I have to commit to a 12 month 'contract', which will cost £4 a month to buy out of if I change provider. If I move from BT to Orange, I'll forfeit the last 3 months of LRS. That's not a concern to me, I don't have any calls package because I don't need one.

I spoke to Orange, but not about the 'free' BB, it was about moving, contracts lengths and tie-ins. They said they could start the new phone service at the new address but it is an 18 month contract; the move is temporary until our new-build is ready, so I don't want to be tied in. I was told I couldn't take the BB service with me because 'it is being phased out, and is not available with new landline contracts'. I've not heard that one before.

When I asked about BB, and mentioned I'm on the 'free' with the mobile and use the second line (so we don't pay for calls) he advised that even if I sign up for the BB offer at the new address I will lose the Livebox and second line.

Seems like Plusnet (which is owned by BT anyway, so BT can't lose) through Quidco is a good option, because I can pay a few quid up front to run on a monthly BB contract and walk away from Orange. The phone's more than I would have liked but £20 a month is acceptable to me.

I stayed with them for the BB but although we all remember the 'free for life' deal; they clearly don't keep records of their T&C's; the legacy T&C's on their website start from after our contracts started in 2006. They have altered the title of an old one that says 'before 2007' or something. Has anyone kept a copy from the early days?

Not a short post but as I haven't seen much mention of the second line with unlimited anytime minutes (including overseas) on the Livebox on this thread, I thought I would share my thoughts.
  • I called Orange last night regarding their wonderful offer to take my landline so I can keep my free BB.They confirmed they do not support call divert. I explained that this service was vital for my work and what did they suggest I should do.They more or less said "tough". Thanks Orange , you customer service is second to none.As a matter of interest does anybody on this forum have a copy of the free for life offer? I would like to have a copy so I can push this a little further
  • Come on Martin Lewis, we need you to get in front of a camera and articulate the anger of all these Orange BB customers.

This grievous injustice perpetrated by Orange on their customers has become polemic, as indicated by the phenomenal traffic created by the issue on your website.

MSE is strongly personalised to your good self. It would be helpful if you could take up the cudgels on behalf of all these Orange customers patronising your website.

Wrongs will always prosper if we simply sit on our hands, and bleat meekly. This wrong now requires the oxygen of wider publicity, and a louder voice. Orange cannot be allowed to get away with this.

"Free for life" is not an ambiguous statement, it is utterly unequivocal !
  • Haven't had any look trawling for marketing material, and not much of use in the old t&cs.

There's one mention of "Free Broadband offer in the UK" in this FT presentation from 2006, but nothing you could use to any great effect.
