Maybe... Re-issue your request. Ask for the number of complaints made regarding ANY company who have removed broadband from their customers' mobile phone bundle deal.

As they have only given one reason for not complying with your request, this re-phrasing goes around that rule, and you'll find out their next excuse, no doubt.
Will would you and others be interested in sending some FOI's through? as the more the merrier and stops me looking like a lone nutter with an axe to grind.

This is where it all falls down - being hidden behind a Commercial/Business decision.

I have had several lengthy chats with CICAS - who assured me that although they would have liked to help, could not, because it was a business decision.

I asked them to define that - they said it was a decision that involved huge numbers of customers and they did not have the resources to address it.

CICAS can arbitrate on a case by case basis but not one involving numerous customers, they are adjudicators not judges - I was advised to take the legal route - which is what I did.
Might be an idea to email moneybox and tell them, as I'm sure they'll do an addition to put their small error straight. Also get another mention of the story again ;)

I just read back this thread reading this and I meant to but obviously forgot to post this at one point:

OFCOM by legislation MUST provide arbitration for all telecom customers in dispute under the Communications Act 2003.

Ofcom must ensure all decisions by its licensee's including "business decisions" are arbitrated when a dispute occurs.

The problem is Ofcom went about setting up arbitration with CISAS and the likes, NOT 1 phone/internet adjudicator is a OMBUDSMAN even though a few of them say so, they are all private FOR PROFIT companies, ie self regulation, the company who you are in dispute with pays for the arbitration...thats not a ombudsman, ombudsman by definition means independent & impartial.

I have said this over the years on MSE but no-one bothers to question Ofcom via its government boss:

    http://www.culture.gov.uk/about_us/our_ministers/default.aspx

I tried 5/6 years ago but one person verus a government minister, system & regulator was not enough I got nowhere and my Labour MP was then as much use as a tory or labour government. All tried to shut me up & I got no media support - perhaps you can do this as you have all done this around the FREE broadband removal & made enough noise collectively to get something done at Orange on a case by case, perhaps you can blanket towards a investigation on Ofcom practices over the last decade.

So recap the above & question yourself, are you going to continue taking this kind of crap from your *ahem* telecommunications regulator Ofcom for another/next decade ?
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

I think the more publicity all of this receives, it might reach the other Orange free BB customers, who have not seen this thread or who have signed up to the orange land line, or have been disconnected by orange.
I really do not see that Orange can get away with it & they should have done the right thing with a blanket statement, saying that they had got it wrong, apologised & reinstated everyone, until the end of their contracts.
I know for a fact that I amongst lots of others always checked that the free BB would remain on continuation of my mobile contract.

The problem with people at the top is, that they are never willing to own up to anything & all try to cover each others backs.
It is obvious that they have no integrity & as soon as we get companies that have got integrity & treat customers right, they will make a fortune, as everyone will be happy.

    Hi Nick,

    With you all the way.

I will give Ofcom a chance to respond to my previous email. If it is evasive, will hit them with a FOI on the subject.

You have set us all a good example, by jabbing away, waiting for any opening to slip behind their defence. Lone Nutter my a.......!

I made a career out of fighting bullies, and tomorrow will be remembering some buddies, who I know will be cheering me on from another place.

    They will be shouting D.L.T.B.G.Y.D

    The Fight Goes On..........

P.S. Already written to M.P. but he is like playing with a man short.

I think this is a good time to thank EVA49, Nick, Nobby,Gadgetmaster,Diamonds and all the many others who have contributed to this forum and getting to where we are today. Without their dedication, motivation, selflessness and wanting to help others HAS achieved at least Free Broadband for many for the duration of their contracts, as im sure there are many who watch the forum but do not participate. At least 3,000. Recommendation by word of mouth is the most powerful of all advertising, I know so many people NOW who will never again trust/use ORANGE/EE again or in the future, that equates to thousands of pounds of lost business. Do you blame them???? :grouphug::grouphug:

We should not feel humbled by getting free broadband for the duration of our contracts it is in Fact OUR RIGHT. :T

ORANGE HAVE TRIED THEIR BULLY-BOY TACTICS AND HAVE ACHIEVED NOTHING, THE LAW IS MOST CLEARLY ON OUR SIDE.
CONTRACT LAW SPECIALISTS WILL CONFIRM THIS. ORANGE/EE SHOULD BE CELEBRATING THEIR NEW LAUNCH OF EE, BUT NO, THEY ARE LOOKING INTO EVERY GET OUT CLAUSE THEY CAN TO FURTHER UPSET WHAT WAS THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. HOW FOOLISH AND SHORTSIGHTED. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS NEED TO THINK LONG AND HARD WHERE THEY SEE ORANGE/EE IN 1 YEAR. SADLY I PERSONALLY THINK THE FUTURE IS NOT BRIGHT FOR THEM!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:;)

Ive renewed my contract in the last couple of months and have the free broadband - but I pay just over £5 for the broadband - the package on bills calls it broadband unlimited (at the time we took it out it covered wireless internet and some free calls through the livebox - not used much at all).

I havent had a letter through about ending the broadband - cant really seem to work out whether its everyone with broadband or whether as I pay extra for a difference package whether I wont be affected?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
