In my case I argued that having the free BB continue through 2 upgrades (new phone, same plan) it was reasonable to assume that it would continue throught a third. When I got the call from the special team my BB was continued until the end of my mobile contract.0

Ofcom is not transparent, its funded slightly by government and mainly by licence fees paid to it by its licencee's & also thier fines handed to them from Ofcom, I got this from them under a FOI request, what happens with self regulation, just look at Ofgem the energy self regulator rumoured by Cameron to be abolished in new Energy Bill.
EE and Ofcom have got very cosy in recent years, WHY a telecom regulator did not allow T-Mobile to go into administration and allow both networks to merge with two license's with the biggest customer base is beyond comprehension. We don't see the business secretary bailing out numerous business (Comet the most recent) since the financial collapse in 2008 .
Q) WHY was T-Mobile bailed out and merged when anyone could have bought T-Mobile from the administrators and 5 licences/companies meant more UK competition ?
A) Because the Euro saving German government OWN T-Mobile. Who also got to launch 4G before the "regulator" even held a 4G auction !!!
Who ruled it was ok for Ofcom ? Oh the EU who went begging for German bail outs for the rest of the EU.
Corruption, home & abroad.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
This sounds familiar and makes an interesting read:

Most odd that what appears to be 'on a par' (different but similar) with our issue is dealt with in a totally different way!
Yet Ofcom had no problems issuing a directive to them!
Think I may have to point this out to my MP0 -

Because they disguised it as a 'Joint Venture' so as not to appear as a monopoly;) - comes naturally doesn't it0 -

Ofcom is a bully, its only the "small" boys that get it in the neck - the 3G licencee's seem to get away with murder as they paid billions to have 3G.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... A joint venture with two mobile network access codes ? Ofcom should have revoked one license and sold it on or let T-Mob hit the wall.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Freedom of Information: Right to know request
Thank you for your request for information regarding how many complaints Ofcom has received on Orange withdrawing free broadband. We received your request on 5 November 2012 and have considered it under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’). I am writing to advise you that Ofcom cannot disclose the information you requested.
Section 44 of the Act prevents organisations releasing information if another act has said that it shouldn’t, such an act is the Communications Act 2003. So that Ofcom can operate effectively it needs to be able to handle and share confidential correspondence with the businesses it regulates. If Ofcom was to make all this correspondence public it would undermine the confidence that regulated industries have that they can be frank and candid without the fear that these views will be published. Section 393 of the Communications Act anticipated this and prevents Ofcom releasing information if the information is about a particular business, unless it helps Ofcom to carry out its duties.
For further information on section 44 of the Act, please see: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/36/section/44.
It is likely that other exemptions will apply.
With regard to your second and third requests under FOI (1-220381581 and 1-220978971), these are currently being considered and I will contact you again with our response.
Am forwarding to Information Commissioners Office for clarification.
So it appears that if we humble folk were to have access to information such as the number of complaints, this would inhibt Telecoms companies from telling the truth??????
Maybe I read it wrong???
Maybe... Re-issue your request. Ask for the number of complaints made regarding ANY company who have removed broadband from their customers' mobile phone bundle deal.
As they have only given one reason for not complying with your request, this re-phrasing goes around that rule, and you'll find out their next excuse, no doubt.0 -
