I run 4 contracts with this bunch all will be removed as time goes by. Nice piece of work Orange ,they certainly know how to run a company. Not even botherering with Retentions at time of renewal.
  • What is the most that this outbound team can gove in compensation, is it £28.?

    Yes, £28.

For those who are awaiting their confirmation in writing (after being told verbally that their free BB will be honoured until the end of mobile contract):
I finally got it today after I sent an Email asking for the confirmation. In the subject: give your Ofcom reference number/s.
    Addressees: bruce.morrison2@cptc.co.uk (thanks, Nickbirkin!)
    olaf.swantee@everythingeverywhere.com (thanks, Nobby1963!)
    executive.office@everythingeverywhere.com
    OCCtelecoms@ofcom.org.uk

Few hours later you should receive something like this:

Thank you for your recent enquiry. You have indicated that you were offered recently ‘free Broadband’/told that your existing ‘free Broadband’ would continue by an Orange sales agent when you renewed your Orange mobile contract. After investigation, although this offer is not available anymore, we are pleased to confirm that your Orange free broadband package will be extended until the end of your current Orange mobile contract.

I can also confirm that we will make a goodwill payment of £28 to your broadband account as agreed.

At the time your Orange mobile contract ends, you have the option to upgrade to one of our very competitive broadband and line rental plans. Should you not wish to take up one of these offers at this time your Orange Broadband line will stop working from the date of the end of your Orange mobile contract.

If you’ve got any questions, please give us a call on 0800 294 4747

    Many thanks
    Harry Wilson
    Director of Operations

One thought on the compensation of £28 to your broadband account as you said Idontlikeorange, in their mail to you.

My BB account has always had the payment of £0, and a balance of £0, so if they creidt my BB account with £28 what's the point?:)

A very good point. I have noticed that too. I would like to think that they meant "mobile account", otherwise it is another dirty trick by Orange. I'll ring them to find out and let you know.

I noticed that too! and they know this too!

This is a red herring! - you need to go back and ensure it is credited to your mobile account:mad:

Of course we all know they will then reply - but we are BB and are not authorised to access to your mobile account:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

If it is left on your BB account, unless you take up their offer at the end of your contract I suspect you will not have access to this!

Eva, you are right!! Just spoke to them and they said it can only be credited to my BB account (which I never had any access to anyway!). So, it is another dirty trick to get me signed with Orange when my current mobile contract ends!:mad::mad:

    Anyone in the similar position???!!

It looks like there is only one option - Small Claim Court!

Been trying to stream BBC Iplayer and Youtube Vid's now for the last few days at peak times.
    I.E. Around 5pm.

It Just times out, after struggling to buffer the file. Because I have 'Insufficent Broadband'

Make no mistake. This is a direct result of Orange 'strangling' the broadband.

Even when you are paying them for a broadband service, you dont get it.

Im sure they believe this is acceptable, as in their eyes, its a 'free' service.

I note more of the mainstream media are picking up this story.

Lets hope it leads to some in depth investigative reporting into Orange, and their business practices.
  • Hello, I'm in the same situation as a lot of you are and have managed to get Orange to agree to let me keep my broadband for the rest of my contract. If they can do it for me, don't see any reason why they can't do it for anyone else - be persistent! Full details of what I did are on the Which? Conversation at conversation.which.co.uk - Good luck!
