We made it!!!! ... to 101 actually, kinda makes me feel we should have left it up there a teesny bit longer but "time is of the essence" now, not to lose media interest,so its being downloaded NOW and will be sent with all the comments from all the signatures to Ofcom tomorrow.
Next step... use it to petition Minister of Culture ,et all ?

Hi,

I received a leter from orange a couple of weeks ago stating my free broadband was to end in December, but I had the option to take up the orange line rental which gives the "free" broadband.

Following a search on the internet last week I found this thread.
I was contacted by someone from orange on Tuesday to discuss me purchasing their line rental. I said I would not be and was going to contact ofcom as I felt I was mis-sold the product. He confirmed it was because I felt I was mis-sold. For this reason he then put me through to management.

I explained my reasons to the management team for the product being mis-sold, e.g. as like most people my initial contract was taken out in 2006 and I was promised free broadband for life, and also the main reason I keep renewing my contract is due to the free broadband. He then said I would continue to receive my free broadband until my contract ends in 2014. I asked for a reference number but he said he could not give me one but could gave me his full name instead.

I have this evening received another phone call from orange asking me had I received the information on my free broadband ending and would I be taking out their line rental. I explained I had spoken to management on Tuesday etc. She checked her records, apologised said it sated on there that I would continue to have the free broadband and again she was sorry for contacting me and said no one will contact me again about it.

I am hoping this will now be the end of it. But I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on here for posting their advice otherwise I would have most liikely ended up paying to have their line rental.
