All of you get on the phone now I mean now and call 08002944747 option 1.
When the call is answered ask for the duty manager (the other people will not help), but stand firm and get the manager.
He listen to me and agreed to the mis-selling/ mis-representation of my mobile contract and agreed to honour my remaining mobile contract till August 2014 (22 months) with free uncapped broadband. Also gave me credit money on my account as a gester of good will.
I was never going down the road for free BB for life, just the 2 years/ the life of my new mobile contract. The manager also agreed to send a email by monday morning so when I speak to my Case Manager at OEO as previously arranged Monday afternoon, I would be able to comfirm the outcome with his email. I also made sure that this conversation was being RECORDED. He comfirmed it was and we both agreed a time stamp.
Many thanks to you all for giving me the confidence to stand up to Orange. Esp. Eva49 (her 'list of action' of what to do does work), Nobby1963 and all you other regular/helpful loggers. I will carry on watching this forum closely and help where I can. Many thank again to you all!

Ofcom isn't necessary. Simply being miss sold is enough.

I can't send out emails. That's all I know about that I'm afraid

Sorry, but I don't believe this from MrRightSA.

Everyone must get a reference number from OFCOM re: mis-selling of the Free broadband and call the executive office on:

You know I'm really irritated about how stupid the fools at Orange are acting screwing everyone around like this. Although it would be good for OFCOM to publish a judgment against them really what we need is a small claims court victory over them; then possibly a higher court proving mis-selling. As with the banks and PPI mis-selling that could be disastrous for the share share price of EE's parent companies, France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom.

I mention this as I've just remembered I have shares in France Telecom (50% owner of EE). Not sure how many others have but I wonder what the board of France Telecom would do if they thought they were running the risk of massive mis-selling compensation claims against EE. I suppose there's only one way to find out, even though it might mean me traveling to the next FT shareholders meeting in Dijon on 13th November and asking some pertinent questions.

Thinking out loud here it might be an idea to contact a journalist at the other FT (Financial Times) and raising the spectre of shareholder revolt against EE's management. If this still seems like a good idea on Monday I just might do that. That'll nicely take the gloss of EE's 'launch' on Tuesday 30th October.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Hi All,

    Just a note with reference to `free` bb speed, this is what it says on my online home bb account ;

    Your current home package is:
Broadband Plus - free with your Orange phone - up to 8 Meg speed, Livebox wireless modem, Talk service and 2 GB usage guidance.

    Hope this helps

  • Well I have taken the plunge and called ofcom today. Got my case number, followed by a call to the executive office. It was surprisingly easy thanks to those of you that have provided guidance. I had no intention of taking this route until they disconnected my broadband and blocked any access to my email address.

The executive office did confirm that my account had been suspended probably in order to get me to make contact. He was very simpathetic but fairly neutral in his views however it really struck me today that there is a real good cop bad cop side to all this. I came off the phone thinking maybe orange are not that bad really before I slapped myself to bring me back to the real world.

Until they cut me off almost two weeks before the latest date I have in writing, I had no intention of doing anything but walk away from broadband, wait for my mobile contract to end and wave goodbye. The only reason i had not done so was i was waiting as long as i could to see what might happen. Now I am determined to go all out for penalty free get out of my mobile contract.

I don't think a bunch if school kids could have made a worse mess of this whole sorry farce.

Nobby1963 - whats the 2gb usage ? Surely still unlimited with fair use, 2gb is nothing!
2GB was always there, never EVER enforced, I took £5 Unlimited as the Livebox calls to 100 countries saved me money, £5 alone on 01/02/03 landlines with the competition, rarely used it apart from Orange/100 countries after I moved to Racoon from Dolphin & was able to add £5 unlimited texts to Racoon with my 3GS from the iphone team 150 routed me too.

Non Orange mobile calls went through Penny Mobile/BT rarely, just when was low on X network minutes. French/Libya/AU mobile calls went through whatever direct MSE Callchecker said. Canada/US mobile via Livebox.

To be fair to MrRightsSA, his posts have been well intentioned and helpful (from the inside!)

And let's be honest here, getting an Ofcom ref no. and ringing Exec Office is what many done for many weeks without resolution. Hopefully it was the number of complaints that instigated the now free broadband continuing.

Orange have now changed their position, hence the above customer results with the Broadband team.

However, if customers wish to bring a mis-selling complaint to the attention of Ofcom to add to the list, they should obviously ring Ofcom.

Further if you unhappy with the resolution offered, then yes you would need to escalate to the Executive Office, where you would probably need an Ofcom reference for them to talk to you!

So after all that, you might as well make two extra phone calls and ring Ofcom and Executive Office haha

Fitz I agree in essence to the point you make as highlighted

People are only being dealt with under the mis-selling rule and after speaking with Ofcom again today they said talks are ongoing and gave me the BB number.
I feel there is still aneed to log with Ofcom and get a case number simply because if BB renege, without an Ofcom case number to refer to they possibly could find themselves in the same situation again.
