Me too Fitz ! I can afford a new handset each year on what I am saving!

And thanks to Plusnet - telephone line calls (paid up front) - BB 60GB half price for 12 months - cost me £7 per year more than I was previously paying with free BB;)

So all in all a good money saving exercise - but I could have done without the aggro if I am honest

Yes, thanks Eva - only found out about it through this forum.

My resolution was also on the understanding that I drop legal action.

    Same

Eva49 - This is now Orange's broadband team resolution.

If you specifically complain about mis-sold mobile phone, Broadband team should be able to now continue to provide free broadband.

You should therefore not need to ring Ofcom or the Executive Office for this resolution. You may need to speak to a Broadband team supervisor!

Hopefully MrRightSA can clarify this and your other points re confirmation emails.

Be great if Orange could start being consistent with customers and I know the Executive Office are not happy!

But it would be great if everyone did inform ofcom - please!

Ofcom isn't necessary. Simply being miss sold is enough.

I can't send out emails. That's all I know about that I'm afraid

But its essential to hold ofcom and orange to account.

I think it essential - in the absence of written proof it is a point of referral

Its essential for proof, and its essential to stop this sort of thing happening in the future by any telecoms. I am disgusted by ofcoms role in this so far, and their relationship with orange - the more people that register this mis selling with ofcom the more chance of both being held to account.

I also have another thing that is bugging me, I signed up in feb 07 (I think) and was promised free bb for life as long as I remained on the same contract ...each time I have renewed I have asked the guys at orange....I was told I needed to remain on the same contract, inc tarrif to keep my bb free for life....£35 contract... and each time was told yes, it wasn't until I got a call in Feb this year re upgrading, when I told the guy I did not want to change my contract as i believed this would mean me loosing my free bb for life and as all new phones require internet connection I didn't want one...that he corrected me and said ...no you just need to remain a customer on orange with a pay monthly contract to keep the free bb for life.....just read threads today that said I could have reduced my tariff as early as 2008? Does this mean I have been lied to for 4 years now??

Also does anyone have any ideas on this point....to stay with orange means that I will have the prolonged agony of knowing in 14 months I need to change my bb provider while also in constant fear that they may again change their minds, re the free bb....so I was thinking I want out now!!! stress over in one go......however ....my folks got an orange phone landline and bb deal in 2007 specifically because of me.....if I change now they will have to change too so that I can contact them easily, will the cost of this and the stress of this be something I can take into account??
I feel it is, because my needs require it, however if it isnt, can the fact that I will no longer have the free calls to them be a consideration I can make in regards to compensation.....and are anyone getting buy outs now or just continuation of free bb?

    Sorry for length of post
My wife changed from a £30 contract in late 2008, down to £15...we thought that we would lose the free BB at that point, but were told no, as long as she remained a contract customer, free BB would remain...it has up to now, so I would say that yes, you were lied to.

I very much doubt that you will get any recompense for the situation with regards to your parents, and cost of calling back and forth, based on my dealings. Although my wife and I renewed based on her BB offer, I have been unable to leave without penalty, as the BB was only allocated to her contract. Also, the exec team would not even cover her legal fees in suing...fortunately, the legal team did...no consistency!

Finally...YES...buyouts are certainly still occuring...wife got hers yesterday, albeit after launching legal action (very simple to do online). Hope this helps

So - I guess you can't comment on what happens to users who have already moved their BB - IE your dept can only deal with BB?

So only exec can deal with those who have moved BB and are seeking their consumer right to have their mobile contract cancelled at no cost to themselves - as it was mis sold.

Those people will need to have ofcom ref and contact exec - Yes.
