  • My blood pressure is now off the scale. We should all go to our doctors to complain about the stress this is causing. Another element to claim for when THIS FINALLY GOES PUBLIC/COURT. Thanks to everyone out there pushing this forward. Orange are saving one hell of a lot of money by sending these letters out, which they then state is an error. (See Eva49 post. So true about reverse cold calling) They have called me on my mobile and landline on several occasions but they are saving a fortune on call charges!!!! Given we the consumer that keeps them in business are actually calling them. OFCOM should be struck off for this damaging process, they most certainly are not fit for purpose.

I was told I could have my BB until the end of my contract 2014, but I have still not received anything in writing so i MAY HAVE TO GO DOWN THE OTHER ROUTE OF CHANGING NETWORKS.

Can I still keep the mobile nos. I have ?
Do I have to agree to break the contract with orange and give them back my Iphone4s due to breach of contract?

I spoke with a relative earlier today and his daughter worked in one of these Mobile shops and she sold sold & sold even to people she was'nt allowed to sell to just to get the commision. This tells you something of the cleanup that should be undertaken with ALL mobile phone companies. It really makes me so sad that this is the current state of the country. The regulators which we pay for with our taxes cannot/will not push this forward, which is THEIR job afterall is shocking.

All big Corporate companies do not give a Diddly for their staff or ourselves. They encourage mis-selling.

PLEASE SOMEBODY OUT THERE TRY TO HELP US GET SOME JUSTICE AGAINST THOSE OBESE "FAT CATS"

They are deliberately sending all of us round in circles to buy time until our BB is removed. There will be loads of customers out there that have'nt seen this forum and dont know what to do other than give Orange their landlines.

They are still sending these letters out which they have already told me were sent in error!! These tactics are so bad I feel Orange could'nt go any lower.

  • OK I've tweeted him,can everyone else drive him mad and do the same??

@MartinSLewis I know U sold out MSE but have you SEEN the 100,000 hits on the forum re:Orange contracts over their withdrawal free BB?HELP!

    Hi all you MSE evangelists!
I think we are running one of the biggest forum threads -104 pages / over 100,000 hits -on your website regarding the mis selling of mobile contracts and the
ending of Free Broad band by Orange.
I have written to Jeremy Vine at BBC,Watchdog, 8 journalists at Daily Mail, FT,etc of which one is now investigating the issue....so please
can you help pass this dire situation on to Martin Lewis and try and get us some press/air coverage on this?? Or at the very least a NEWS UPDATE
    on your own website!!??
I think there are hundreds, maybe thousands of Orange customers affected by this. Ofcom have acknowledged are complaints but appear to be impotent in
helping us. As this issue is mushrooming on your website, please read our posts and let Martin know, surely despite his millions he still cares about
us poor ill treated consumers? Just think of the THOUSANDS of new visits you've had to your website because of this forum thread!!
Surely that's worth at least an acknowledgement to our plight???

It would take a strong man to !!!! off his employer & possibly damage his stake/income of millions for some Orange Broadband customers, if Martin is a man of principle he will do it, if he wont well we all made him rich & he left us in the pooo for a product he graciously promoted prior to being a puppet employee....

Like Orange, the ball is in Martin's court, will he stand up to his employer like any other company he does ?

Either way, I dont care, it comes down to how much he thinks professionalism matters over money to him personally, that tells MSE users where we stand to Martin as with every other company before MSE got sold off.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

6 days and you will all be EE customers, remember buying or transferring a company - agreements are ongoing, the EE brand changes nothing for the position you are all in, dont be told otherwise !

  • Orange has lost broadband customers steadily since its peak at 1.138 million subscribers in November 2007. In August 2011, the number fell below 713,000, but in September 2011,the total increased. Orange's strategy had been to go head-to-head with TalkTalk to grab customers defecting from BT by promoting "free" broadband for those who bought other services such as telephone calls or a mobile subscription.
At great expense, Orange "unbundled" from BT's network and built its own broadband infrastructure, but struggled to maintain it properly and customers complained of poor or non-existent connections. By 2009, Orange Broadband was making an £80m-a-year operating loss and coming bottom of Ofcom's customer satisfaction league table.
Last year Orange took the decision to decommission its unbundled network. The equipment is being taken out of BT exchanges and sold to developing countries or scrapped. Instead, Orange has been renting space at wholesale prices on BT's network, and the transition will be complete by the end of the year.
"We came to a point where we realised that with the old business model we would never break even," said Duarte. But Everything Everywhere, which was created by the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, does not want to pull the plug on broadband because its smartphone customers need it when using their phones at home.
Home broadband with wi-fi provides faster and more reliable internet connections for phones and computers indoors than mobile operators' 3G networks. "There is a recognition as a company that we need to be much more than mobile," said Duarte. "Once you've said that, fixed broadband is natural fit. Every time we sell a smartphone now we try to sell our home broadband."
Ha! now try teliing us the two sides were never connected. If this isn't a true admission by the main man himself, I don't know what is. perhaps we should all be quoting him during our calls to the Exec office personnel?

    Orange broadband subscriber numbers

    2010
    Q1 815,000
    Q2 797,000
    Q3 759,000
    Q4 741,000
    2011
    Q1 726,000
    Q2 716,000
Q3 713,000 .... so how many are left 12 months later??
