It's saying their SSL certificate has expired. I just clicked Proceed anyway and was able to login fine. (It IS the real Orange site; it's not a hijack so you're safe).

PS - over 76k views and 1500 posts in this thread so far. :)

I'm guessing this will go up to £28.50 after 12 months Neil? Looks like the same package they are offering on the website for £13.50 LR plus £15.

All of this is a bitter sweet. On one hand you get a reasonably good deal in respect of todays prices, but on the other previously was paying £10.75 to BT, and £5 to Orange for unlimited LL, Orange and Internation calls. Now its a hefty £28.50 once their bribery offer is over.

12 month deal - Guaranteed Price not a promotional price Your telephone number stays the same

I actually don't believe that package will go up, but time will tell.

I also don't believe that even ringing up at the 9 month point I will get a better deal/package. Again have to see what happens.

I had been on my last package since 2006. What I won't get I believe is getting 2 - 6 months free each time I renew my contract.

CISAS cannot help... wrote to them complaining that Orange are not honouring their promise of free broadband and that this is the argument used to persuade me to take out a contract.
Received the following (still no response from execs office or Olaf Swantee the CE)

    Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that we are not an advice giving body and cannot offer you the advice you require.

Unfortunately the dispute cited below constitutes as a business decision that is undertaken by the company itself and therefore falls outside the scope of CISAS.

It is suggested that you seek independent legal advice on the matter.

We are sorry we cannot be of assistance.

That was the "unique" bundle for UMA/Signalboost, now discontinued, free for "converged" customers, later £1 for Orange calls, £3 for 01/02/03 landlines, £5 for all the above INT landlines in the 1000 minutes allowance for ANY mobile customer.

Copy & paste eh Neil lol.....

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and USA.

Orange Line Rental does not say it includes Canada mobiles, although USA are all "landline" allocated mobile numbers...maybe Canada is the same ?

Diamonds you need to find my post regarding my new package this week, not far above.

My original package was BB plus, option 1 (evening & off peak calls) retention, I have just found out, I remember you asking ages ago what I had.

Although I appear to have ended up on broad band max before my new switch this week.
  • With regard to the 12.5p connection fee for 0800 on Orange landline. I was told on the phone by a sales advisor that this is not the case, despite the price list PDF saying that it is. Of course I have no proof of the telephone call should they charge anyone this 12.5p. Ridiculous.

Now, onto future predictions about why Orange want to sign people up for 18 months. How long does anyone here think home broadband as we know it is going to last? Is it to become obsolete with the expanding fibre optic network and 4G being introduced?

I already know people who no longer have a landline in favour of using their 3G "unlimited data" mobile as a router for their home computers. With 4G, this'll be even faster and you just offset the cost of having landline rental and home broadband instead of seperate services.

I have never been charged by anybody for 0800 calls, I don't believe they can from a landline.

You can get a PAYG sim from giffgaff/o2 network, free 0800 even from mobile if topped up.

It's copied and pasted from elsewhere not exclusive to your email....

Broadband Max is what you should have been on as a FREE customer from the start so at least you got free off peak deals with a retention, prob had to move you BB MAX as the new deals are restricted to the FREE BB MAX packages to move to a "special squirrel" deal lol.
