Unfortunately yes, I believe this will be the case :(

I use a web based email address ie @hotmail @gmail as these are not dependant on IP provider.........but I think my wanadoo one will be gone when my free Orange BB is no more......

I think that there's a way around this. Believe it or not some people do still use dialup and I think Orange have some kind of pay as you go version using a semi premium number (remember that not too long ago, that's what we all did!). You can keep the freeserve account going by logging into this occasionally or something like that. You'll have to google for info or call orange. I read about it last year on the thinkbroadband forum, so you could also try asking there.

IMO it's better to bite the bullet and get a new e-mail that you control, but you still might want to run the old freeserve account for a while, as I'm sure there's some things you will forget to change over to the new address.

For Spacemanc
If it helps I recently moved my mum from aol as isp, and she keeps her @AOL.com address by logging onto an aol homepage.
I see on the Orange homepage there is an email log in section.
Might you be able to do the same?
If you were in an internet cafe abroad would you still be able to log onto freeserve, if that makes sense?

• Three images have been posted to Ofcom to add to my complaint as they suggested they do not have any evidence !?

2. An extract from a broadband account 'invoice'.
quotes "Broadband free with Orange phone"

3. An extract from a mobile account invoice

I don't know how they or especially the management at Orange can deny that the information proves the entitlement.

Ofcom latest reply today -

Thank you for your further email sent to Ofcom on 5 October 2012.
Whilst CISAS cannot deal with the removal of the free broadband, as this is a commercial decision, if you feel you were mis-sold this would be an individual complaint and should be something they can deal with. If CISAS continue to state they cannot assist you will need to consider seeking legal advice.
I am sorry I cannot be of further assistance.

Completely crazy... its a moronic catch 22 situation.

Ofcom say its CISAS, CISAS say its Ofcom.

I spoke to CISAS about a month back now. They agreed with everything and even given advice which i would class as pretty poor, then went to make further enquiries with Ofcom to call me back later. Nerveless they never called and i didnt see any point in calling them again. I mays well of called the "i completely agree hotline".

One thing that strikes me with all of these Organisations is how they suggest people take independent legal advice as neither can help, When they whole reason they exist is so Mr Joe Bloggs isn't being taken advantage off because they are put off by the Court process.

......

Either Ofcom have their fingers in their ears singing "i know a song that will get on your nerves" all day blissfully unaware the outside world exists or something very fishy is going on!

To put "Broadband free with Orange Phone" is about as implied as being explicitly linked as your every going to get on a piece of paper. Reading mine i'd assume you could not have one without the other....

Unless they want a tape recording of the CEO admitting wrong doing accompanied by CCTV footage of him hopping on one leg while rubbing his tummy after the christmas party 5 years ago... i really can not see what anybody else can provide as evidence.

RE Moon777's as well
Twaddle from Ofcom.
It is not an individual complaint, we have sent about 20 emails stating the opposite.

"We make sure that people in the UK get the best from their communications services and are protected from scams and sharp practices, while ensuring that competition can thrive."
&
"Ofcom’s general duties should be to further the interests of citizens and of consumers. Meeting these two duties is at the heart of everything we do."
The above is taken directly from "What is Ofcom" webpage.
Get them on the phone and challenge them.
I'm chasing my chat with them from last Friday as no-one has got back to me withregards the FOI request.

Can anyone who got this reply please forward me a copy as I have a journalist from a heavy weight media organisation working on this on this and he would love to see all these "individual complaint(S)" being ignored by Ofcom.
If we can generate close on 20 statements in the space of three days how many could Ofcom generate if they bothered to investigate.
