Just a bit of fun in addition to our proper list :)

Can I go on the testing list please skint? Many thanks....

Another here turning 30 in august...my best friend turns 30 in Oct.... We've been talking about going on a girly holiday for a week with a few more of our friends.... Slightly worried cos of TTC, and I haven't told anyone... But thought I can't put things on hold `just in case I might be pregnant by then` so they are wanting to book it soon.... Gonna take the plunge and book it.... And if I do get my BFP in the next few months I'll have to sort something out... Eeeek.

Congratulations to the BFPs we've had recently...

Hope everyone has stayed safe during the snow.... My drive home this morning post nights was horrendous... A 45 minute journey took me 2 hours.

I'm heading to egg collection on Thursday, then the icsi people work their magic. I'm very nervous but trying not to show dh, as he had to ’perform’ on the day too ,and I'm sure he is nervous! Looks good on my end, so fingers crossed we have some super super tiny babies by next week. :)

Good luck t2d! I hope you have lots of super tiny babies :)

AFM they let us go home early today because of the snow so im snuggled on the sofa watching The Santa Clause which i taped and didnt get chance to watch at Christmas :p

I got very impatient and tested this morning (10dpo) and got a BFN. Going to try and wait until Friday before I do another. I've pretty much convinced myself that i'm pg this month, I've been a complete nightmare the past couple of days, snapping at OH and crying at the drop of a hat. I normally only get like that a day or two before AF and she isnt due til Friday. Going to be really dissappointed if she shows :(

Becca, what sorts of things do you eat on the low GI food plan? I wasn't able to make it out to the library (4.5 miles walking in the snow was plenty for me!) so I haven't been able to nab any books on the subject.

Unfortunately, DH wanted me to make some of our chocolate covered 'crack' as he calls it. They are peanut butter squares with chocolate on top. Good, but definitely NOT low GI! We are down to the last piece though, so I'll nudge DH to eat that tonight so it doesn't taunt me.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Mrs _T_M I'm veggie so my version will be a little different. My plan is veg as much as possible, no milk & beans/pulses.

    Do you have pcos? X

TL thanks for snack ideas xx

I don't think I do, but I need to lose weight and my mom did very well on a lower GI plan, so I figured I'd give it a go. We do eat meat, but try to stretch it due to the price. I'm mostly trying to stay away from bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes in all shapes and sizes.

I'm trying to tell myself to eat as much of the veggies as I want, have a fruit smoothie (with a bit of fat free plain yoghurt) for breakfast for something lower gi but still sweet, and only have meat/beans at dinner instead of 2-3 meals per day.

Except for those darned peanut butter things, I've done pretty well today. :)

Looking over the 'symptoms' for pcos, I have some of them. Very overweight, hair in places I'd rather it not be, very oily skin (getting better though), and when I was younger extreme cramps. I've never had a scan, so I don't know if I have cysts or not, but the cramps have calmed down greatly since I've been in the UK, as has the oily skin. I also have very regular cycles. All in all, I don't think I have it, but it definitely won't hurt to get this weight off!

Mrs tm the chocolate peanut butter things should actually be low gi depending on how you make it- ie no added sugar. milk chocolate is surprisingly low but dark chocolate is even better if you want to make it lower gi x

They're made with digestives, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and crunchy peanut butter. We typically do 1 bar milk and 1 bar of dark chocolate melted, mixed, and poured over the top. If I can figure out how to make them taste close to the same, but lower gi, it would be completely fantastic!

    Hi ladies

I've not posted for a while; have just been impatiently waiting for ov :o

Just need to ask some advice though if that's ok?

Opk yesterday had just a line that only TTC ladies can spot! Today (CD14) had a stonger line which is VERY slightly lighter than the control line. Now we bd'd last night and my question is do we bd tonight AND tomorrow night or just tomorrow night??

I'm thinking of the advice that I have read about not bding every night which may reduce the quality of the sperm?? But I don't want to miss ov which I think we did last month.....

    What are your thoughts??

Thanks ladies - going to grab some food then read back

    Big hugs xxx

We are all entitled to our opinions (so please don't shoot me down on this) so I wanted to share another perspective on fb postings.

It is difficult to see other people's perfect family/ cute kids/ pg moans on Facebook but in reality the majority of our fb friends are not doing anything particularly nasty aimed at us.

Just in the same way that when they might read something I might post, I am not going out of my way to make them 'envious' of something I might have/ be doing.

There's plenty of my friends who are unable to enjoy the nights out/ holidays/ breaks/ cars etc that I can (& often get mentioned by me on fb). I don't think that I shouldn't post it because others can't do these things.

    Just my view!

Oh I know what you mean, I certainly dont get offended at scan pics and baby pics per se, just the parents who seem to think we want an update every 5 minutes on what their child is doing!

Same goes for the people without kids who post every 5 mins, but I must admit some of those with kids do seem to be the worst offenders!

hopelass do you have a reason to doubt your partner's sperm? if not then you can have it off as much as you want with no worries

Mrs tm there's only the digestives and sugar which arent good...could you experiment with oatcakes and sweetener? the peanut butter will lower the gi quite considerably anyway so I'd still keep it on your treat list x
