    Good morning everyone

Well, I'm new to this thread but not to the TTC threads in general, I was a member back in March/April 2010 - we caught on our first proper try so I wasn't around for long! I'm now the proud mother of a lovely 19 month old boy :)

So, I'm back! I did want to start trying before now but I'm still not 100% healed after my episiotomy, have had a GA op to try and drain an infected abcess behind the scar but I don't think it worked fully. I have a follow up on 19th September but really want to get going with TTC.

In a way I guess it's a blessing as I've been forced to wait the 18 months advised in between children, plus my DS is still waking occasionally in the night (for 2 hours last night!) and has only just started sleeping past 6am, so I'm still pretty knackered. But I'm ready to give him a sibling.

The waiting this month for my period was awful - 41 day cycle! So I'm finally on CD1 and ready to start temping. I also got a free First Response OV kit with 20 sticks from the Baby Directory to test but if that one leads to no luck I'll go back to Ebay cheapies, they worked for us last time :)

Good luck to everyone trying and I look forward to hearing everyone's good news in due course! xx

I will be moving departments after I go back and my new boss is lovely. We're the same age, but she is very career focused and has no time for babies or husbands! I suppose that is why she's the boss and I'm the trainee :D

Did they let you go part time lily?

    :T If they did!

    Hello ladies

Back from the wedding now and slept lots last night so feeling much better today :j DD has a bad urine infection tho with blood in her wee so she is on antibiotics, poor thing :( She's had them before and I have had loads in my time cos my kidney is mis-shapen and I have 2 tubes to my bladder where I should just have 1. She was scanned a while back and all was ok, but they started talking about doing it again now she is older as they might not have been able to see anything last time (think it was maybe 3 years ago when she was scanned).

Sounds like some of you ladies are going through a tough time so big big big hugs for anyone who is struggling right now.

Am sad to see tea/coffee lover go :( Altho I do understand why. I just thought we was all getting to know each other :(

I have to stalk so many different threads now to keep an eye on you all :rotfl: 12month+ for all the lovely ladies who I miss from here, multiple miscarriage thread to talk to skintchick and cleofish, 12week pregnant thread for our graduates and the big pregnancy thread for our "big" graduates. Will soon be due date time for Kittenpie, Emsbet, Sexymouse & Ickle!

I don't think that we should change around the threads etc. To be fair, it probably depends on emotions/hormones on how well I react to a BFP etc. Most days, I just think yay (or somethings a big yayyyyyy if its a 'regular' who I have gotten to know a little better). I wouldn't want anyone to 'not' get pregnant or to go through a loss. I just wish I was pregnant and hadn't experienced a loss myself. I know some people just don't know what to say in these circumstances as they haven't experienced it for themselves. And thats a good thing. I don't want them to experience it. I wish everyone would get pregnant really quickly and never have bad things happen to them. But it doesn't always work like that :o On a not so good day sometimes I don't think yay so much :o Sometimes the world is so unfair (and I behave a little like Kevin off of Kevin n Perry) and I have a little mini strop at everything. But thankfully I don't have so many not so good days at the moment

Hugs for Jox. I echo what Teamlowe said, make sure you have been to the EPU (early pregnancy unit) to have a scan to make sure everything has come away and for some advice etc. Theres a few of us on here after a loss, so please continue to post as we may be able to help. There is also a miscarriage thread on MSE, which does go quiet but once it is bumped back to the top people will read and comment. Hope you are doing ok xxx

As for the newbies / lurkers out there. I think you should all post lots :j I just got stuck straight in to posting when I found this thread and never lurked before joining in. Sometimes posts do get missed and not replied to, but its only by accident. Please don't be put off by that :o I have a really bad memory and can't always remember names etc. And sometimes I don't know the answers to any questions you may be asking so I leave it up to someone else to answer it. And maybe they forget too :o I don't think we're clique'y??? I think we are all nice n friendly  We all yabber away and thats how we get to know each other. None of us know each other in real life (good job too seeing as I know far TMI about some of yous and vice versa :rotfl:) Anyways, don't be scared - come and join us :T

Well, I went to see the nurse last night and had to go through the whole, are you sure, are you ready bla bla bla. Its only been in for 6 months etc.

She then said about having a rubella check......hmmm I know I had this done when I was a kid at school but as to whether I'm still covered -who knows! So I end up having a blood test and no coil removed as she said if I dont have antibodies then I will need to have another and then cant try for 3 months!

    Anyone else been through this?

    xx

Not the same as I was coming off the pill so didn't discuss it with anyone. But when I got my BFP with my DD and was so excited about it, I booked a GP appt cos I thought thats what you should do (to confirm it or whatever) and he proceeded to go through 'options' with me and told me how much hard work children were :eek: I was 23 at the time so maybe they thought I was too young??! But I owned my own house, had a good full time job and was married?!! I was pretty mad to be honest.

Sometimes, health people think they know better than you. When you are pregnant, they take bloods on your booking in appointment and check for any treatable things that could be passed on to the baby (things like rubella, hiv, hepititas (sp?), chlamydia (sp?) etc)

I would just book another appt, see someone else and get the coil out. And put it down to an experience.

    .

It was the same with me, I think people automatically assume if you are young that you are not in a position to have kids or that they wernt planned. I had DS1 at 21 and DS2 at 24 but I look younger (salesmen always ask if my Mum or Dad are in when they knock on the door :rotfl:) and the looks I got if I was walking around town without DH with a toddler and a bump were unbelievable!

Welcome to the thread Lilian. Hope your stay here is short and sweet.

Lemonmelon - Ooooo, vivid dreams are a sign. Have you done a test?? Am sure you said this month was going to be yr lucky month

Ktb, I think 21 day cycles are fine, as long as you ov roughly 14 days before the end of the cycle. So if you were ov'ing between CD5-9 you would be fine. Its a blessing in some ways as you get more 'tries' than someone with longer cycles. Mine have varied between 31-43 days, so you could have 2 'tries' for my 1 try (and theres plenty out there with longer cycles than mine :o) Mention it all to the gynae, they might be able to help.

Bigzip - Wooohooooooooooo - 60 lbs down!!!!! Have you tried picking up that weight? Its a struggle to pick out that kind of weight, and you used to carry it round with you. Just think how much healthier you are now. Hope the treatment plan all goes ok. Will be thinking of you.

Squirrel - loved your wedding photo :j Congratulations Mrs Squirrel :T

JoJoB - Hugs for CD1, but yay for the luetal phase. Is it all systems go for TTC again this month then? :j Tis exciting xx

Tink - Hope yr blood tests go ok. Hope the CBFM lady gets back in touch soon.

Hope QQ is enjoying her hollybobs :j I'm back to work tomorrow after having most of August off so far - boooooo!! Its gonna come as a shock methinks, lol!!

Seems a bit inappropriate not to remove it when you have asked! Ive never heared of anyone having a rubella check BEFORE they get pregnant (they do it once you are pregnant).

If you had it at School I reckon you should still be OK.

I know when I had my implant removed I actually felt uncomfortable admitting I was having it removed to TTC so the lady was telling me to make sure I used condoms, went on the pill etc.

Maybe its best to say you're having it removed because it doesnt suit rather than admit to be planning to TTC!

I don't even look that young. I once got ID's in morissons cos of the thing about having to look 25 (I think I was 29 and typically didn't have any ID with me) and the supervisor came across and said don't be so stupid to the checkout lady - OF COURSE she is old. :rotfl: I went from feeling oh so good to not really that good at all in 2 mins :rotfl: :o

DD was very much planned and wanted - its surprised me that someone in the medical profession could be so judgemental. One of my friends got pregnant at the same time as me (same age as me too) and she saw a different doctor who was really really lovely and said all the right things. So it must have just been my doctor who was rubbish :o

  • Thank you for all your lovely replies! I did think it was a little odd but when its the first time of TTC you take them at their word that they know best.

I am kicking myself now that I am waiting another 10 days for an appointment. Think I am going to just book an appointment at my local FPC and get it done!

Right, now to make the phone call whilst at work and not being listened to!

    xxx

Yes I do think a lot of Drs can be rather insensitive!
