Can I just ask, did any second timers have a health check at their doctors to see if they're lacking in anything before they TTC again? I'm sure I'm not as healthy as I was when I was pregnant with my first (mainly due to tiredness) so wondered whether it was something the doctors could do?

Littleme - Hope you manage to get it removed at the FPU. You should start taking folic acid in case you didn't realise that. You can take it 3 months before TTC to get some in yr system. You can't hurt yourself taking it or overdose on it, and it can help prevent defects in babies.

Amus - I think they have changed how they do the quote things cos it looks like I am talking to myself too on the page before! I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

Lilian - I'm TTC#2 but with over a 6 year age gap I don't think I am deficient in anything these days :rotfl: If you take folic acid or pre-pregnancy tablets I'm sure you will be ok. I weigh an awful lot more these days than I did when concieving DD, and I do try and work on this, but its a slow journey with that one at the mo. :o
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year

hi ladies long time no speak!!

havent been on here in ages and not since the new thread as just needed some time to myself.

Bit of an update DH and i have been TTC#1 since september 2009 have gotten pg twice since then but miscarried both times one in 2010 at 6 weeks and aug 2011 at 12 weeks.

Both OH and i have had tests done and although his sperm is fine i have now been diagnosed with multifolicular ovaries, i have since seen a specialist in july 2012 and they want me wait another 6 months before offering help as although i have been TTC since 2009 they have said i have to go at least 18 months since my last MC which to me is unbelievable!!!

I will prob be lurking for a while but big hugs to all who need them and congrats to any BFPs ive missed.

And sorry cant remember who has been updating the lists as on my phone but could you update me to CD21 please :)

Thanks abis - am taking pre-pregnancy vitamins and pre-pregnancy Omega 3 tablets so hopefully I'm covered then :)

mssas - so sorry to hear about your MCs, that's awful that you have to wait so long to see anyone :(

Welcome back mssas - am quite shocked to read the above though, can you go to a different specialist/gp and get a second opinion?

I can't believe im 17dpo - though technically im not sure when i ovulated as we've been busy this month and had people round so could be an earlier dpo. Also we only BDed CD10 during the week of ov so its actually very unlikely that Ill get a BFP

I have zero AF symptoms though apart from the odd cramp - more of a twinge. Im going to wait til friday/sat though as by then it will have been 31 day cycle which is the longest ive had since starting to track my cycles in nov.

No preg symptoms either at all, so i think AF is just planning on sneaking up on me this month - not happy about my lengthening cycles!!

Just got sad news from my best friend that her pregnancy (she is 8 weeks) has a 90% chance of miscarrying as the foetus has no heart beat yet. Feeling really bad for her, however bad getting BFNs every month are, it can't compare to that.. :(
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

    Debt at LBM (Sep 07): £13,500. Current debt: [STRIKE]£680[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£480[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£560[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£13[/STRIKE] £0 overdraft :D
Current aims - to start building up savings
    1st £1000 in 100 days - £1178.03 :D 2nd £1053.38/£1000 :D 3rd £863.59/£1000 :o

Thanx and my GP has been lovely with TTC and said i should be on medication but its down to the specialist but in the next breath he is soooooo stupid at the same time as when i went and we were discussing TTC he then prescribed me with tablets for something else and after reading the leaflet it states DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE CONCIEVING!!!!
i swear they just prescribe stuff without knowing what it actualy does.

Hi MV and Lilian  - I remember you from my first time around :)

I don't think I'm as healthy as I was when I was TTC DS. I've not spoken to my Dr yet, but was thinking I might if there is still no joy after 6 months of trying. I'm definitely heavier than the last time, so they'll probably just tell me to lose some weight :o

Becca, I'm 8DPO today. I figure we've as good a chance as we'll ever get this month, so fingers crossed. I'm itching to do a test, but didn't get a BFP til I was 17dpo with DS so it would be a complete waste to test so early.

That's so awful for your friend mogwai :(

  • Welcome back lilian! :j

    And hello Bigbird!

Nice to see some 'oldies' on here again :)

Lilian myself and OH have started taking the Pregnacare Conception vits in an attempt to be a bit healthy! We've also stopped drinking alcohol during the week, moreso because OH was quite ill recently, but also because it just becomes too easy to crack oen a bottle of wine at the end of a hard day as a treat. Our 'treats' were becoming a bit too frequent, hence chugging our way through a bottle of wine a night

Sorry to hear about your friend mogwai x
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..
