welcome pink, there's a few of us with pcos or at least suspected so your amongst friends
having pcos can give false positives or negatives with opks which is why I've never used them but maybe temping will confirm if it is a true positive?
well done on the weight loss, looks like it's worked brilliantly for you, a regular cycle is a sure sign of regular ovulationfingers crossed you''ll get your bfp quickly, doesn't sound like you need Clomid now

I've had PCOS for years and very few periods, maybe one or two per year. I have been told by my consultant I will need Clomid, but due to my weight I need to lose a few stone and bring my BMI down.
Since Aug I have had a regular period. We have not actively been ttc until now. According to ovulation calculators I should be ovulating this week. I got my ovulation test kit today. Apparently I am ovulating :j
Now I'm unsure if I am or if its just my hormones giving me a false positive because of PCOS.
I am trying very hard to get my bmi down, I have approx 1.9 stone to go until they will be happy to let me have Clomid again (took it years ago with ex husband, 2 months then got divorced!)
Any advice?
Hi PFT - I think PCOS can give raised LH levels (the hormone the tests test) but not sure if this would be enough to give a false positive.
Good luck with getting your weight down. I too am struggling with this and found a low carb diet really worked, as it is good for insulin resistance. I'm not sure if I have PCOS or not but am diabetic. I lost half the weight I needed to lose before xmas but sadly put half back on during, so am trying to get back on the wagon now and shift it. I've heard it can really help with ovulation.0 -
Well I just rang my Doctor in a state of emergency, thank goodness she knows how much this means to me.
She thinks with some of the weight gone its kicked started my periods and sees no reason why its not right. God I hope so.
I know I need to lose more weight no matter what. I am also diabetic, type 2. I'm the worlds worst diabetic but from now on I am on a strict low sugar, low card diet and might even take my metformin
I've got an app on my laptop to track my cycles, according to it I'm fertile for another few days. My DH won't know whats hit him
Its lovely to find a place like this that others understand how hard to it and how it feels xx0 -
Hi everyone
I still haven't done a test, as chickened out - I've done so many over the last couple of years I feel I just can't face seeing another BFN! And all the time AF doesn't arrive and I dont test I've got some hope! Pathetic I know.
Really thought AF was arriving this morning as had tummy cramps etc, really bad, but still no sign. One thing that was weird today though, was I ate my breakfast as normal at 7am, but then at work my stomach was really rumbling and gurgling by 11am (i never eat after breakfast until lunch at 1.30) and I felt really nauseous....I really thought I was coming down with a stomach bug, but after eating I was fine again. Now its been a couple of hours since eating and my tummys gurgling again. Sorry for SS but think I'm allowed as AF so late!
I will update as soon as I test or AF arrives....0 -
Yay MV... Very happy for u. X x
I've done an opk today.. The lines were pretty similar in colour....so I guess I'll ovulate soon.... Which means I will have about a 7 day luteal stage presuming my cycle is the same as always..... So then I went and googled `short luteal stage` ..... And scared myself to death....
This is my first month of testing... I kept forgetting to temp and therefore gave up... But I will definitely be temping next month.
Does anyone else have such a short luteal stage? Is it a problem.?

Me! I have a 7 day LP usually. This month, if AF arrives when it's supposed to, it will be a 5 day LPalthough I believe that LP will be 7 days and the cycle will be extended.
Starting on pregnacare conception vits and evening primrose oil today.
Lily knows quite a lot about short LPs as she has one too.DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -

Hi ladies and welcome Newbies, hope you stay is a short one!
OH and I went to the doctors yesterday and OH is going for a semen test and day21 bloods for me to start with. Doc told me not to be too concerned and to relax about it more - easier said than done! I have however managed to resist opks and the thermometer so far this month and I have to say I do feel more relaxed and happier.
Over the past few months I was stressing about the colour of lines and why haven't I ov'd yet etc and then stressing about my temp and taking my temp so many times during the day.
I just hope I can keep this relaxed attitude up and back to work on Mon so operation weight loss will begin then!!0
