code - things I've read previously (nothing too scientific, I should add) have said it's ok to carry on with things that you're used to. But if it's something new that you're not used to you may want to take it a bit easier.

Overall, I think there's very little we do/don't do during the 2ww that really makes that much difference tbh. But it can make a difference to our mental state to feel we're doing the 'right' things. So some exercise has to be a good thing, but maybe don't plan to start doing ironman events if the most you've done previously is walk to the shops.

So basically a long-winded way of saying everything in moderation then!

Code - I panicked all the way through my first pregnancy even though I had not miscarriaged before. I had conceived with an untreated pre exisiting condition, and was likely to miscarry (but luckily didnt). It didn't stop after the first 12 weeks either, towards the end I got scared again that something would go wrong in the labour or baby would have birth defects, as it was my fears were not totally unfounded as baby was in distress during labour and had to have an emergency c section - worst hour of my life, but all was well in the end. Then you start to worry about cot death, then once they can move that they'll hurt themselves, I don't think it ever really ends it just changes form and gets less intense!

Thing is all my worrying didn't really make any difference to the outcome - once your in it you just hope and pray that you'll make it. Looking back now I think I worried too much but at the time I had a good reason to be scared and wouldn't allow myself to 'accept' the foetus and bond with it until I was quite far on.

What a great skill, I started knitting last year. How difficult is it to make a doll? What could a beginner start off with?

I would like to join the weightloss thing too. My next appointment with FS is at the beginning of March. I have have lost 5 kg since being told to lose weight and being put on Metformin but I ideally need to lose another 5kg before March. So over the next 8 weeks I need to aim to lose 650g per week:D. Doesn't sound like much does it but my body really doesn't like to give it up:o

hmmm might have called ov too early. Went to the loo and found more ewcm. Negative Opk though. Was definitely dry this morning. Grrr. I dont think DH has it in him to do another BD. 3 times in 4 days is almost unheard of.

    Hi Skaps,

These are crochet work. I'm not too good at knitting. If you can crochet and can read a pattern (or learn to read a pattern) the dolls are fairly easy. Just need to know how to do a magic circle, how to increase, how to decrease, how to tie off and occasionally how to do a double crochet (don't know what they are called here, sorry!).

I find the dolls and amigurumi figures much easier than flat pieces for me.

skaps - Jean Greenhowe patterns are brilliant. They're so clear and well explained, and all the individual parts are easy to make. The Little Gift Dolls book is great, and the basic doll shape could be easily adapted for other themes.

The Jean Greenhowe website is pretty good, and has some free patterns. You could probably get hold of the pattern books on ebay.

Tea - that made me snort with laughter! Just imaging myself trying to do ironman events. Or even 'world's strongest man'.

I struggle to hold my 18lb baby for any length of time let alone do the mega stuff that proper athletes do!
