I take pregnacare conception and my pee is fluorescent. DH takes wellman tabs and he has never mentioned his pee colour, lol! Wonder if his is fluorescent too and he is worried but daren't say owt :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the info about homeopathy TCD - I had a good read of that article. I don't know what I make of it - defo need some more info in order to work that one out. Have sent the lady an email asking what basically she would do etc and asked for costs. I don't think I would want to do anything more this cycle anyways seeing as I am taking soy. Which BTW - totally spoke too soon on the headache front cos this morning I have a corking headache :(

To be fair - I think that it will just come down to a matter of timing with the getting pregnant thing. I have been pregnant before with DH albeit a failed pregnancy. So surely at some point our eggs and sperms will get jiggy again. And I bet whatever it is that I do differently that month I will think it is marvellous. But realistically, its just a game of chance. And at some point, sperm will reach egg, fertilise, and implant.

For those that haven't seen the great sperm race, or want a reminder on what happens, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFrVmDgh4v4

I'd love to say I will chill out this year, and just do what we can and not worry - but I know I'd be lying :o Its very hard to not focus and think about something you want so much.

Soooo, the diet/getting healthy challenge then. I see we have a few takers. Have you thought of what your individual goals are going to be for next week? I am going to go with exercising I think. I gave up zumba thinking I would get pregnant very quickly and didn't want all the twisty hip action to effect a potential baby. I want to get back in to it. I have zumba for the PS3, and some zumba DVDs to try out, and failing them I have the 30day shred which I followed very very well when I was dieting for my wedding. So next week I am going to have 3 exercise sessions. My overall goal is to lose 10% bodyweight, but that will realistically take some time to do, so I want to set myself little goals in the meantime to keep me focussed and on track for that.

The progesterone test should be done at 7 days past ovulation if you can work out when that is. CD21 assumes day 14 ovulation and a 28 day cycle....so not helpful for the majority of people! Try using your cervical mucus to work out when you're fertile and when it dries up count that as 1dpo.

I've never had the CD2 test though I know thats to check for ovarian reserve. Perhaps they just figured it would be a waste of time given my age and clinical history. Who knows.

Getting the usual pre-af cramps so am expecting a 7 or 8 day LP this month. Sooner it comes the better really.

Thanks hoping it won't be a weekend as blood tests at my hospital don't happen then.

ok, from my complete mental meltdown and breast tenderness last night and cm dry up today I think I ov'd late yesterday so I guess 1 dpo.

Dtd 3 days before, the day before and last night so hopefully will be enough. C'mon egg and sperm, let's meet, fertilize and let the embryo go to blastocyst, attach and grow.

Weird about the fluorescent wee. That's never happened to me!!

Mrs_T_M, your crochet is amazing. I'm teaching myself how and I got ridiculously excited when I did my first granny square.

abis, even on a cycle where you get everything right, there's not even a 25% chance of pregnancy. So it's just a matter of waiting for our number to come up and doing all we can in meantime to stack the odds in our favour. Can I join the challenge? I want to start doing at least 3 exercise sessions a week. I'm a member of the gym in my building at work so I'm planning on going down there and doing couch to 5k on the treadmill.

Hi Lilymay, re the 21 day test could that explain why this month I got a low progesterone score but the ov predictor said I was ovulating, also got sore boobs etc before AF so I'm sure I did ovulate even if only a bit! The doc said I had not as my score was 16 but I ovulated on the monday and then had the test on the friday so prob 4 days or so. I've been a bit confused about it as I was so sure I'd ov'd, and gutted when he said I hadn't as I'd started clomid so was sure I would have!

I do know the 25% chances of conception statistic, but I did kind of ignore it cos like sooooooo many people just get pregnant without trying, or while on the pill etc. But when you watch that clip and stuff it does kind of remind you on how much actually does go on inside you. Its kind of awe inspiringly amazing, combines with omg will you just hurry up and happen to me. :o

Hope you caught the eggy code. Sorry if i upset you with the poorly baby talk. Think it effected me more than I thought. My automatic thing when she started telling me about the 'my brother is pregnant, it wasn't planned etc' story was oh for gods sake - STOP TELLING ME!! and then i felt awful afterwards for thinking that. MIL was round just before xmas tho and knows everything that we have been through but still proceeded to tell me so many stories about colleagues who were pregnant, friends who had just become grandmothers, obscure cousins who were pregnant etc etc etc. Think she thought I would be pleased to hear news of babies?!?!? I think in so many ways I'd just rather pregnant people sort of didn't exist until I was pregnant too :o:o:o (no offence to any graduates reading. I'm just well jel thats all :o:o)

Yay for being my exercise buddy tho :j:j:j Am looking forward to it (I think?! lol!) I have put you on my spreadsheet now code, so will be keeping an eye on you next week

I was the same as you. I had tests at 3DPO (22 progesterone) and 10DPO (26 progesterone) but they said it needed to register over 30 to confirm ov. They did say it might have risen and fallen after ov tho, so the 26 score may have been after a peak if you know what i mean. I still am sure that I did ov. I have to go for repeat tests this month, but they will let me determine when 7DPO is and I will just turn up with my referral slip then. I was initially gutted tho when I got my results. I just wanted them to show I was working ok :o

OMG, just watched the fertilisation clip on you tube, and cannot believe how difficult it is for the sperm to get to the egg! Maybe this was mother natures way of avoiding a population explosion throughout most of history where there was no contraception? Doesn't make our lives any easier though!
What makes me really ponder though, is how many people do get pregnant accidentally. I know some of these may be 'accidentally on purpose' but a lot aren't, as there are so many abortions each year - 190,000 in the uk last year. Compared to 700,000 live births, not all of which would have been planned. How can this be when there are so many people trying, month after month?

Ah well I don't think I'll feel so bad now with the BFNs after watching that. Of course if the sperm and egg do actually meet you have the whole implantation thing to contend with, I bet a lot of conceptions fall down at that point.

It's a wonder anyone is ever actually born!!!!
  • Thank you for your welcomes !!

It truly is the miracle of life isn't it Angie?! :) Just hope my little miracle will hurry the heck up! ;)

For my exercise I'm going to aim for 20 minutes on the exercise bike 3 nights a week and/or 30ish minutes on Just Dance considering I got the new one for Christmas and I haven't opened it yet! :o I would like to lose 2 stone over the year which should be achievable with some dedication. :)
