Trying for a Baby Part 8

  • TCD - I only have suspected PCOS. I do get lots of spots, but I wouldn't say I was very hairy. I didn't used to have much problems losing weight but I do these days. I had an ultrasound with my missed miscarriage and I was noted as having 'unremarkable ovaries' so I would say there was no evidence of cysts from that.

Just as a little aside you don't have to be hairy to have PCOS- I just suffer a bit with my skin and losing weight. My periods are up the wall and occasionally when I have a large cyst (only had one of those twice) I'm in a lot of pain. It was only when I was in agony with one and got sent to hospital with suspected appendicitis that my PCOS was diagnosed. You don't have to have all of the symptoms to have it. Low GI diet is really good for controlling it though- it's also good for your skin and easy to do within the slimming world diet. :)

I'm going to try and post my chart... Duo have told me there's no sign of ovulation yet but with the same data FF has predicted ovulation. I didn't take any OPKs though (not that they really confirm anything for me but it makes me feel better if I've POAS! :) ...) so I'm still none the wiser as to what is going on- maybe someone here can see something I/ Duo can't?! :)

The strength that you ladies have is pretty inspiring. Although I've been TTC for a while now I'm relieved that I haven't faced any of the loss that some of you have as I just don't think I could cope the way you do. You're all an inspiration to keep my chin up. Thank you. I never expected TTC to be so difficult and life consuming (especially when you're the only person in your social circle TTC) so it's a relieve to come here and see that it's not just me!

    Morning all,

0dpo for me today please. So happy with my body for ov'ing on the same day 2 months running. Now chop chop AF, I want to get started on 2013!

TCD - I think you are right and there are some pretty inspirational people on these threads. I too never expected TTC this time to be so difficult. I have fallen pregnant 3 times in the last 3 years and carried 2 of those babies to term. We had never actively 'tried' before and I have learnt a lot from the people on this thread. Now I'm on cycle 14 and still, nothing. Still, good things come to those who wait eh?

Credit - Tut tut for testing early!

I can't read anyone elses comments as they're on the previous page but big old hugs to anyone who needs them.

Ff thinks you ovulated but its not 100% sure because the line is dotted. Unfortunately I think you need to wait a few more days to see what your temp does as the increase wasn't all that much but if it keeps rising or stays high you should know you definitely ovulated, but if it drops again then maybe not yet.

claire yeah other than testing them i think they did blood tests and scans.

lemonmelon - i'm not so sure had a mad out burst last night deleting everyone on FB who posts pics of their kids or them with a post/pic of them with a drink i got so mad ive behaved for months not drinking and they have babies

I'm not a big drinker so for me being pregnant and stopping drinking didn't really affect me however, on the odd occasion I was offered a drink when the person didn't know I was pregnant & so of course I declined you know now I am so happy about. I am so happy to know that I didn't do a single 'bad' thing when I was pregnant so I can not blame myself. I followed every single rule so clearly my baby must have had something wrong with it & that's why it passed away.

So although its hard to see those pictures at least know that you were only doing the best thing & if you've even been avoiding it when ttc, like a lot of us on here, it's better than kicking yourself & thinking 'what if?' I think that feeling would be even worse. Hope that makes sense :)
  • Hi all, long time lurker here - wondering if I could join you?

    My story:
I'm 28 married early this year and decided in July to start TTC. Came off birth control pill and had withdrawal bleed then nothing for 40 days, thought nothing of it as had been on BC for 10 years.
Then had 3 AF's of 28 days, last month was 30 then this month day 32 but no AF (neg hpt).
Since coming off BC my periods have been dark brown, thick and not heavy at all, I had level 3 abnormal cells in 2010 and had loop diathermy treatment so not sure if this has anything to do with it.
And I thought TTC would be so straightforward!!

I'm driving myself mad thinking about it so thought I would share with you guys as you seem to be an amazing support for each other.

    Thanks for reading, Saz.

Now I remember your (no longer there) bunions Skinty! Must be lovely to know that they're all sorted and mending nicely now! :T Had a quick look at your blog last night but will read it properly when I've got some time (got to agree with Abi though, seems odd that your name isn't really SkintChick! ;)), I've got a bunion that I'd like removed so it'll be very interesting! How have the investigations into the MC gone? I have missed having you around :o

Abi, my OH was really lethargic about going for his SA, he said he was 'OK' with it but then refused to make the appointment to speak to the GP about it! When he actually went to *ahem* 'deposit' the sample he didn't even tell me he was going and I knew nothing about it until he got the results. Wonder if he'd have said anything if they were bad?! :p

Sorry to hear about your uncle Trina, hope DH's gran recovers. :)

Big hugs for AF catching you Cozza and Tink :(

    Welcome Saz!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • TCD - It sounds like you and I have a similar type of PCO. I am not particularly hairy but have a hard time with my weight and very irractic af and OPKs do not work for me. I also get slow rise ovulation temps like your chart about 70% of the time. Often FF gives me dotted cross hairs when there have been three temp rises but then moves them a few days later as my temp keeps going up. If you get more rises like the ones you have had I expect FF to move your crosshairs by 2 days forward. If your temp drops it will probably remove the crosshairs.

Vic - I see what you mean. Did you just stop temping or have you removed the data? Continue to temp from today so you get into the habit and you will still start to see a pattern. I know from all the charts I have completed over the last year that when my temp is above 36.36 I am in my luteal phase and anything below that I a (stuck) in my follicular phase.

Saz - Welcome to the group.

Tinks - Hugs for AF. Hope you get some suitable running weather soon. It is raining cats and dogs here.

afm. Haven't dared step on the scales since Xmas. Am supposed to only be weighing myself on a Saturday so I don't become obsessed with it but am not looking forward to tomorrows weigh in:o. Need to get back into weightloss mode. Have had a letter from our local IVF department telling me to come for an assessment so I have to get my BMI as low as possible before they set a date for the assessment.
