Morning all! Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Mine was lovely but I'm already back to work now
Not that I expect to *do* any work!
I would like to be updated to 2DPO please.Becca, you've been an absolute star with the lists over Christmas! Thank you! :T
Really sorry about the chemical OnlywayThey say you're most fertile after a loss so I hope next month you catch and it sticks!
Big hugs to everyone who got AF over Christmas, hope this is the last time you see the witch for a long time!
The Duo sounds interesting TCD (hehe I like the abbreviation Abi!), I think OH would bust a gut if I told him I wanted to spend £500 on a monitor, no matter how fancy it is! Keep us updated though!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That sounds interesting about the duo! Good to know you get your money back ( although of course I hope you don't need to!). Definitely sounds like its good for you if you work shifts.
Abi- I'm ok as I can be I guess. Just so sad.0 -

DH got me a Kindle fire & some new running shoes so think I will start running again to get fit & sort out my head.If you can think it........it will happen0 -
I need to ask for some advice from you lovely ladies, I started spotting today at 8dpo. Last cycle I spotted at 10dpo with af arriving on 11dpo. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can lengthen my lp? I was kinda hoping last cycle was a fluke but this one is going even worse.
My doc said that my LP of 7 or 8 days was nothing to worry about. I have no idea whether he is right or not!
Still no darker line on the OPK for me, so looks like another late ovulation and miniscule LP phase. Going for 21 days (actually 26 days for me) bloods next Monday.
Hugs to all that need them. So sorry to read some of your news xxDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
I'm back at work too Birdie. DH is at home, but he gets more holidays than me and has to use them up before the end of 2012. DD is at her dads anyways, so I wouldn't be exactly doing much more at home.
Claire - big hugs, it is so sadAt some point, you will get more happy days than sad days, and then the sad days with become even further apart. It just takes time and a lot of sadness and tears in the meantime
Well, the docs appt couldn't have gone much worse:(
My last blood test still didn't confirm ovulation, but that could be because it was on 3DPO & 10DPO and that it had peaked in the middle of that, but the blood tests missed that.
She said the reason I had irregular cycles was because I was overweight. She said I would have 28 day cycles if I had a normal BMI.
I asked about possible PCOS and she said all women have that to a certain extent especially overweight women. I asked about prescribing metaformin and she said it wasn't suitable for when you were TTC?!
She weighed me and told me I had put on a lot of weight (I obviously did know this, have taken to comfort eating too much since the miscarriage).
She said they would monitor ovulation for a couple more cycles, so gave me a couple more blood test referrals for CD21 (or 7DPO in my case)
She said the best thing I could do was to "stop trying"
I can't remember at what point I started crying, but then I couldn't stop crying. She said she was sorry if she upset me, but that I was putting too much stress on myself and that seriously I needed to stop trying. I pointed out to her that you can't get pregnant without having sex, and that as my cycles are so irregular I need to pinpoint ovulation as otherwise I can be doing it all at the wrong time. She told me about the time she got pregnant and she only had sex once on CD18. Super. Most helpful. Wouldn't really help me if I was having a 48 day cycle now would it?!?!
She said they wouldn't refer me as I hadn't been trying 12 months since my loss, and that I was too overweight. She said it showed that I "could get pregnant", even tho I explained that it was a partial molar with 2 sperm entering 1 egg which is obviously not right. She said that "I done that now, so would be ok next time!"
I wish I hadn't gone to be honest. Am in a right ol state with myself now. I know I'm overweight, but I also know that other overweight people get pregnant too. I am usually quite good at dieting, but when I tried early December I found that I was struggling mentally as food is my comfort when I am sad. I know thats wrong, but I am struggling to break the cycle on that one.
The other doctor I was seeing was so much nicer about it all. I should have just waited for her to come back.
I feel so useless and sad.Married my lobster in July 2011
TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait
 2013 is going to be our lucky year :dance:0 -
Vic - I would be inclined to ignore what your GP said about an 7 day LP being fine. He has probably assumed you've got your ov dates wrong, or is clueless as to what an LP actually is. A 7 day LP is not normal or fine. But worry about that if/when you go and see a specialist.
If you are having regular periods, you are almost certainly ovulating (although your blood results wont show this). It may be that you just need some stimulation to kick start your body into ovulating at the "right" time.
Abis - Crossposted. That is shocking. Like, literally, shocking. Was it a GP you saw? Arghhhh! The stigma surroudning infertility is ridiculous. So many GP's need to go back to med school! I am so angry on your behalf. She sounds totally clueless. Perhaps she went to the same medical school as the GP who told me that... "progesterone supplements didn't exist and that your body had to produce it its self".
Just out of interest (and if you don't mind posting it), what is your BMI? I'm just curious as to why this doctor was so hung up on it. And yeah....because all 'average weight' people have 28 day cycles....cretinous woman!!14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Abis, that's awful. Please go back to see your normal doctor x hugs x
Lily, I think that I am ovulating, confirmed by OPKs and temping. My chart doesn't look great over the past week as I've been off work and have slept right through the temping timeWhat do you mean about kickstarting ovulation?

Oh abis big hugs to you. I'm so sorry the doctor was such a stupid cow and so unhelpful to you x. I know what you mean about comfort eating though I put on about a stone since my mc so I shall be on a diet in the new year boooo.
I have ordered some vitamin b complex and agnus castus to try and lengthen my lp. Hoping it helps as all I really want is to be pregnant again and hopefully stay pg this time. As it is I may call cd1 today but its not official until its in magenta
Hugs to all x0 -

It sounds like you and I have quite similar cycles, although yours are perhaps a few days longer. My charts are also (generally) rubbish :rotfl:
My consultant thinks I am ovulating (first one I saw thought I wasn't) and, like you, I am certain I am ovulating too because I get positive OPK's and temp rises every cycle. I've been prescribed clomid because they can't find a reason for me not to be able to conceive, but the drug is supposed to force 'stronger' ovulation. That's what I meant about 'kickstarting'. Just giving your body a helping hand ifkwim. It may be that whilst you and I are both ovulating, it is a 'weak' ovulation and we are releasing duff eggs, or they are too mature/immature or something like that. We obviously don't produce vast amount of progesterone either as we have short LP's. Very easily fixed and nothing to worry about in the long term.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Thanks Lily. You took a look at my FF chart recently
I'd prefer not to interfere with my cycle for the next few months as they have only really got to a stable length in the past three or four months. I would then try something natural but don't really know anything about it, so would have to have a read. Come on ovulation...i'm really for you (DH has been briefed and is prepared for it to happen in the next three days lol !)
