Hugs Katie/only way so sorry to hear your news, sending you big virtual hugs x

I need to ask for some advice from you lovely ladies, I started spotting today at 8dpo. Last cycle I spotted at 10dpo with af arriving on 11dpo. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can lengthen my lp? I was kinda hoping last cycle was a fluke but this one is going even worse.
  • A friend of mine has recommended taking soya isoflavones supplements to bring forward ovulation (they're supposed to be a natural equivalent of clomid though how much of that is true I don't know) and vitamin B complex to increase progesterone and by default the length of your LP. She's got a little girl now and was diagnosed with LP defect.

    Maybe it'll help you? :)

I think it's ok to spot as long as you don't get AF before 10dpo

Hi, Can I be updated to CD22 awaiting ov.

The people at Duo emailed me to tell me I haven't ovulated when they expected me to- they initially predicted between CD13-17 (It's no surprise- my body is anything but cooperative!) but apparently they expect I'll ovulate in the next week or so...

Just bought a load of cheapie OPKs to see how accurate this monitor is on next cycle which wasn't the point of getting it- I wanted it to stop me obsessing but it seems it's doing the opposite!

Hugs to all those who didn't get the results they wanted or have been ambushed by the witch. 2013 will be better for us ladies!

Do you have to email them info before you start using it? Or are they just saying 13-17 based on 'averages' ? Which of course don't apply to everyone :)

Basically when you start using it you give them the dates of your last 3 cycles and they work on the last period as an average but once you have a cycle worth of data they can more accurately predict when you'll ovulate according to the data rather than my random cycle lengths (hopefully!).

For example my last cycle was only 32 days which is the shortest one I've had since coming off BC back in 2011- this appears to be the cycle they've averaged. It was a weird cycle for me though as I'd had an ultrasound as part of my infertility investigations to check if I was ovulating (had it on CD 30) as I hadn't been able to pinpoint ovulation. Apparently I did and they think they saw a 4 week sac but then the witch came 2 days later... I'm still awaiting my day 21 progesterone bloods (hopefully Duo will help me determine when to do them cos it's supposed to be 7 DPO) which I think will show my progesterone levels as low (hence the failed implantation that they picked up on the u/s)

My cycles vary so much though and OPKs are generally little to no use (why I persist in buying them I have no idea as I never really get a darker test line) so hopefully once Duo have got this cycle as my baseline I'll finally be able to figure out when ov is happening! I'm also looking forward to the 4 month fertility report which might help me with my doctors/ hospital.

Oh wow I hope it can help you. How does the monitor work is it still peeing on a stick or?

Can you temp as well? Although it can only confirm ovulation as in its then too late to bd, I found after doing it for a few cycles I can tell from my temperature when ovulation will happen because it always drops to a certain number, so I can use it for predicting ovulation as well as confirming it actually happened.

I have weird cycles too and depending on which three I picked say over 1 year would give you very different results- I never know what's coming! Grr! X

Duo is basically a posh temping device. You wear a sensor under your arm which takes thousands of temp readings a day. Every couple of days you download the data from the sensor to your laptop and some boffin down in Cambridge has a look at it. They've got loads of data and can apparently tell you when ovulation is coming/ happened/ when to test for pregnancy etc. But they need a couple of months of your data first to get your baseline and compare it to all their other data.

Apparently it's as effective as IVF and it comes with a money back guarantee if you're not pregnant within 12 months which is reassuring as it's quite expensive.(£500) I mainly got it for the ease (no more manual bbt taking- which isn't that reliable when you're working shifts and no more peeing on sticks and trying to figure out if the sodding line is darker or if your eyes have gone mad again... :) ) and also for the fertility report which you get after 4 months and which can show if you're suffering from failed implantations etc. and recommends treatments to talk to your doctors about.

I sound like I'm pure trying to sell it! I'm not! :) I just hope it works!

    Morning :hello:

Onlywayisup - So sorry to hear your news :( Take care of yourself xx

Teaandcakeordeath (can we call you TCD?? I'll get so lazy having to write out your full name, lol) The duo thing sounds interesting. How long have you been using it? I've got irregular cycles like you too - between 30 and 48 days. I had blood work done this last month, seem to be ovulating fine and baseline hormones were fine, but they said I may still have PCOS. Will be following your story, as you sound very similar to me

Claire - How you doing? xx

Purcy - Could be an implant bleed, so fingers crossed. Just have to see what pans out over the next few days I guess...

Becca - Thank you so much for doing the lists. How are you doing? Are you having a wierd cycle again? :(

Code - Nom for soft cheese :D

    Jovie - Hugs for CD1.

Amus - Fingers crossed its a slow BFP.

Amyloofoo - What you doing lurking lady?? Come back and chat!! :rotfl: Hope you are doing ok.

AFM - CD1 today. Bit of a slow starter this month, but suppose its preferable than it coming on xmas day. I knew I was out already, so seem to have cried all my tears for this month at least. Getting a bit fed up of the whole thing to be honest. I wish I could curb the excitement and hope sometimes as it does just always lead to more disappintment at the moment. DD said she would not ask for toys and ask for a baby for mummy from santa instead :o:cry:

2013 tho - thats where its at. We're all getting upduffed with forever babies, and that's that!! :T:j:beer:

Got a docs appt in half an hour to discuss blood results. My normal doctor is away til 2nd Jan, so decided to take an appointment with another lady doctor. My normal doctor is lovely and had fertility issues herself, so hope I am not making a mistake going to a different doctor. But thought if I wait til CD7 (2nd Jan) then it might be too late for this cycle if they were going to prescribe me something. And I don't want to waste another cycle :o If they don't prescribe anything then I guess I will try maca root or soy just to 'do something' this cycle. I often need a plan to help me psychologically get through the next month if you get me. I need to feel like I am doing something constructive to help get what I want...
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year

Vit B6 is supposed to help, though it did nothing for me. Soy also did nothing for me but it has (apparently) helped other people. There are lots of success stories on the internet anyway.

Clomid and progesterone supplements also sometimes help; the former because it creates a 'stronger' ovulation and progesterone to keep the levels elevated.
