Sorry to hear of your news Tinks.
Hi everyone how we doing?
Well I am mega disappointed after peeing on a digi clearblue opk every day for the past week (CDs 10 to 17), nothing. I did not lay an egg.
I went to my GP and he is doing a progesterone test on day 21 to see if I actually did ovulate and missed it. If so I am not using those tests again - they're expensive.
I conceived my son by accident two years ago so I presumed all my bits were working fine and dandy but I guess there's no guarantees.
The doc did say it could be a blip and some months some ladies do not release an egg, but it's a bit disappointing happening in month 1, what if my eggs have all dried up or something.0 -

maybe youre just ov late this cycle and it will happen in the next few days? but the dr is right you can get the odd month where it doesnt happen and thats normal.
buy the cheapy opks! then you can use as many as you like without worrying.0 -

Totally agree with Claire. How long are your cycles? I don't get a surge until CD19/20 usually and Ovulate on CD21. My cycles are only 28 or 29 days so there is quite a good chance you're missing it if you only test for 7 days. If you are only doing 1 a day you're also leaving yourself open to missing the surge.
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? You've done really well to get your doctor to do CD21 bloods after only 1 cycle.
I am having a royally rubbish day. I have also felt disgustingly bloated for about 3 days now, I'm really constipated and my nipples are so sore. I had to put vaseline on them this morning to stop they rubbing on my braI am in a pretty foul mood too.

Thanks for your replies. Sorry to hear you are not feeling so good today lilymay. I am 35.5 yo. I get on really well with my GP as I have a chronic medical condition, I was told not to try conceiving from Feb of this year until last month due to my medical condition so he knows i've been waiting a while to get going, so I think he wants to help me now if he can.
I will continue to test for a few more days as although the sticks are expensive I don't want to miss my egg now if it is just a little late.
My cycles are usually regular and 29 days or so, although since I had my son my periods are a lot lighter and shorter, 3 days instead of 5.
Hopefully I have either missed the egg or it is just a blip that I did not release one this month. Could I have released it before day 10?
My 21 day test should say what's going on, although I got confused and told my doc I'd be on day 21 next Thursday, which is when he's booked me in for the test, I now realise day 21 will be Weds.
Do I definitely need to have it on day 21 or can I still have it on the Thursday do you think?
Thanks0 -

I have a strange vision of a woman sitting on a nest after your comment about not laying an egg!
I worry about my eggs drying up too! All I need is one of DH's soldiers to dip into my egg, but I don't know if there any eggs or soldiers to begin with! :rotfl: Sorry, I know the actual situation isn't funny, but the analogy made me laugh.:)
(((Hugs))) Lilymay for your rubbish day, but you're not SSing now are you?! I'll let you off a finger wag as you are feeling badx

I suppose it is sort of the same as a hen laying an egg, only a very very small one.
Why do hens lay an egg every day but we have to wait a whole month? Would be so much easier to conceive if it was every day!0 -
And some more than once a day I think! Damn those hens!!
Hope you get some answers from the test anyway. I had mine last Weds. x0 -

Lol, no. I'm like 4 dpo! I think that's partly why I'm so annoyed....if there was even a chance my ailments were symptom related I might be a bit happier to have them
To be honest, I don't seem to get any symptoms until the 6/7 week mark anyway so a BFP is the only indication I will have!
Angi - It's great that you have an understanding GP. They play an important role to begin with. I second what Claire said about buying a load of cheap OPK's and using them twice a day until you start to get some idea of your cycles. Could you temp? Would that help?
My cycles also changed a lot after my son was born. Before him, they were 25 days without fail and were really light. Since him (and my c-section) they have ranged between 27 and 35 days and I have ovulated between CD17 and CD23. I only know all that because of all the charting I've done. My last 2 sets of blood results have been abnormal though and my FS doesn't think I'm ovulating. I think the problem is c-section related but that's enough about me!
Your bloods being done on CD22 won't be an issue, especially as you say your cycles are 29 days14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Damn it! Could have been the silver lining to the clouds! I'll keep my fingers crossed anywayx
