Morning ladies :hello:
(((Hugs))) for the BFN TeamLowe. Good to hear you're feeling relaxed about it.
Well done for updating the list Squirrel! :T Looks good to me, thanks for doing that!
Thinking of you tinkwings xxx
BFN here this morning, a bit naughty to test so early but I have some cheapy tests so thought I'd try one. Feeling ok about it and trying to look on the bright side of things - gives me more time to lose weight for example.0 -

But glad you're ok about it.
Squ1rrel - thanks for updating, you're braver than me! I'm actually 4DPOsorry should have said.
Had a good old natter last night with a friend who is also TTC, although she's been trying for about 3 years and we're only on our second month. She isn't charting or anything, just kind of hoping, I was thinking of buying her a copy of "Taking Charge of your Fertility" but not sure how it would go down, what do you ladies think?
Off to take the cats to the vet now, I expect to come back bruised and bloody and traumatised in an hour or so...
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday
I guess it depends on how much detail she told you and how close you are to her, has she been to the docs for tests etc.
One of my friends who is now pg, had been telling me all about her ttc at the time. and I showed her a calender and we worked out when she had been ov and it was not when she thought it was, she had it all back to front. She was stuck on the old 14 days after your period rubbish we get taught at school along with the perfect 28 day cycle. Whereas her cycles were more like 31 days so she was doing it too early each time.
So we were then talking about maybe some people could easily be going for months or years just bding at completely the wrong time. Now of course that isnt the case for everyone and especially with the internet so many women are clued up on opks and temping and whatnot, and we all know how many possible medical problems there are. But if someone is 'just hoping' and havent investigated anything else then I guess it cant hurt ??
Someone DH knows at work has been trying for quite a while and he told her I was using opks, and she was like 'What they are so expensive, I cant use them, theyre like £20 or something.' I think shes been relying on cm alone. Which in my case would not be reliable.
DH comes home and said how much have you been spending on those sticks she told me theyre really expensive??? I said err about £3 a pack?? He said thank god for that! :rotfl:I said you know me Im a bargain hunter! So Ive now told him the website to tell her so she can buy them! She must have only seen the digi ones.0 -
Just been let out of hopital have lost the baby. Had to stay in overnight :-( xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0

happy saturday ladies.
Welcome new posters. Hope your stay here is short.
Anyways looked at my calendar and realised I've been a day ahead of myself. I'm actually 13/14dpo today! As for my drinking dilemma last night it sorted itself out. I had 2 drinks last night and they made me feel sick. Wish I could call it a symptom but strong AF cramps yesterday. I was buying a coat and the cramp came and almost pitched me across the cash desk. The woman thought I was a total weirdo. I thought I'd started AF but nothing yet.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

To be honest - I don't think I would buy it for her. She might not be temping 'anymore' not that she hasn't tried that in the past.
I've been trying for a year now and understand exactly how it all works, and if someone who had been trying a month or 2 tried to offer me advice I think I would be a bit peed off.
If she has been trying 3 years, she might be undergoing investigations and/or treatment or saving for that if she isn't eligble through the NHS.
There is a mass of information easily available on the internet about TTC, so I would have thought she will have already been well aware of checking for ovulation clues etc. I agree with claire tho that she might not know about IC ovulation tests or pregnancy tests. When I first started trying I couldn't understand why the ladies on the board had a POAS habit cos I thought it must have been so expensive given that pregnancy tests are approx £5 a pee. I had never heard of the IC ones and even if I had come across them, I probabaly wouldn't have thought they worked accurately.
I would tred very carefully as she will no doubt feel emotional and touchy about the subject. You do end up feeling a failure - even tho its not your fault. So many women fall pregnant so easily and when its a struggle its just a massive rollercoaster of emotions ranging from jealousy, bitterness, anger, sadness etc etc. I wouldn't want you to upset her any further if she was having a down period.Married my lobster in July 2011
