Oh Very Many Congratulations Mogwai. So happy to hear your good news. Hope this is a sticky:j
Benhope - Sorry I don't know anything about soy but Yay for shiney new toys:)

LTL - Do you mind me asking how old your are? Can you go to another doctor for a second opinion?

I also had a docs appointment today. Was very nervous beforehand but OH came too. Because of my age (37 almost 38) he said 'lets not waste time with the waiting game' and has ordered blood tests & SA and is going to refer me and OH to the fertility clinic ASAP.

I was told that the 21 day test is test hormones after ovulation, because I ovulate so late he said I would probably have to repeat the blood test every 7 days until the middle of my luteal phase. So I am booked in for that and getting my thyroid checked and they are going to check for a hormone imbalance.

    Wooo, congratulations Mogwai! :T

Hopefully you should be OK on hols as long as you stay hydrated and try not to overheat. Women from hot countries have babies too, so it can't be too bad for the baby as long as you take some sensible precautions.

Lily, is there any chance you can see a different doctor? He seems to be giving you a different story other medical people, so perhaps he's just stuck in the dark ages. Or just particularly unhelpful. Either way, a second opinion might be a good thing.

OK I think I've caught up now, sorry if I missed anything.
    I loved all the dragon's den ideas:D
Looks like quite a large number of you have synced up and have ov'd:cool:

    mrsj28,
(((hugs))) for the big career change. TTCing can stop our lives going forward:(
scoobydoo, one can get another LH surge if for some reason the egg doesn't get released.
teacup, hope the psychic is right and you ov soon:cool:
lily the legend, yay for ov:j
But (((hugs))). I suppose some doctors won't refer you to FS until 18month ttc then:(
Day 21 should be done at 7DPO to check if ov happened 7 days before or not.
How much more BMI do you need to lose?
They probably think you'll get pg if you wait few more months.
    Purcy, yay for ov!:j
Any chance of late night/early morning BD?
Tinkwings, yay!!! This is going to be a forever baby!:j
good vibes, glad you had a good doctor:)
Hope all the results are fine.
    MV, yay for BDing:j
    Squirrels, yay for BDing!:j
time2deal, I went private so weight is not an issue:o
Gemmzie, (((hugs))). Are you sure you haven't ov'd?
lilymay, yay for ov!:j Make sure you BD though:cool:
*BigBird*, are you saying you got a tlp?
tea lover, you need to get the right dose for clomid, sometimes it will stop ov.
I ov'd fine at 50mg, but not at all at 100mg.
benhope, welcome back, what's happening with your family?
    mogwai, congratulations!:j:j:j

No, I'm saying I'm a silly bint who can't be trusted not to go rummaging in the bathroom cupboard the day before AF is due, even when she knows a test isn't going to give a proper answer :o

:j Huge congratulations Mogwai! :j Have you managed to get hold of your DH yet to tell him? You must be bursting with excitement! :)

Firefly, I'm 32 and DH is 35. That's good the doctor referred you. :)

Bigbird, yes I could see another doctor at the practice. I might send DH so that he can ask about having a SA. Seems strange that I can have a blood test but he has to wait to do that. Although the way the doctor was talking, there won't be any action taken on the blood results until we've been trying for 18 months and have both lost weight.

Thanks QQ, yeah I guess some are saying to wait 18 months. Thanks for explaining about the test. He said I have to get tested on day 21 as that's ovulation day (I had already told him I had a smiley face today) and he said I must have ovulated early...

Good vibes, DH is 35 so maybe they will offer to look at his swimmers if he goes to the doctor...
  • That is a fab strong BFP Mog! :D

Do you think you actually need any training to be a doctor these days?? They don't seem to have any knowledge of even the most basic things. Quite scary!

Lily Im waiting for him to come through the door at half 6, and keep trying to think of cool ways to tell him but I know I will end up shoving the test in his hand (he has cleanliness OCD as well so will be funny to see his reaction to being handed a pee stick)

Thanks MV it is a good BFP, surprised at lack of symptoms though I feel completely normal!

PS Scoobs have u tested again or holding off for a few more days?

BigBird FX crossed for you for friday!
