    Hi all,

Good to see things are a bit cheerier on this thread. I think we have had a though few months of such low numbers of BFPs. Normally I feel a bit jealous of each BFP, but actually I think we need some good news to keep things upbeat!

I am not actually yet SS just yet don't worry! I know at this stage that any symptoms are really ov symptoms still. I got myself into a bit of a stress last month, so trying to be a little more chilled this month as I can't imagine being hyper stressed is that helpful. But... I say that now... remind me of this in 10 days or so!
  • Avis, sorry about your grandad. Hugs.
All quiet here. Just waiting patiently. Gosh it's no fun is it! Lol

  • Abis - i'm sorry to hear about your Grandad too, 82 is a grand old age and I'm sure that all those years have been filled with happy times. I work on an Oncology ward, so I see families like yours alot. There are some amazing analgesic treatments now, so that the person doesn't suffer, and isn't aware of any discomfort, but just passes as peacefully as possible.
  • Metranil - i was going to wait til 14DPO but as OH just pointed out, Sunday we've got a christening, and that means champagne, and lots of it. So maybe i should test Sunday morning ? If i get a negative though, i'll think 'let the bubbly flow', but it might just be too early and i'll have a massive guilt attack if two days later i get a +....
  • time2deal - I agree that it's been fab seeing the recent spate of BFP's. I get so excited when people are testing, it's just addictive!

coops - whereabouts are you in the 2ww? It is painful isn't it!

Good plan on testing early on Sunday Pomme. We're meant to be going out for a meal on Saturday night. It's a rare occasion that we go out thesedays, so I was planning on having a few drinkies, but obv won't if we get lucky. I'm pretty sure that 11DPO is too early, but I'm going to give it a go. I have 2 Sainsburys test which claim you can test up to 4 days early, but obviously the accuracy is less the earlier you test.

    Hello everyone

The cricket is dead :-) it came back out of the wall last night and I was woken up at 1.30am by hubby hitting it about a million times with a slipper! Not sure if it woke him up or whether it was just coincidence...

    Karma :rotfl:

I really shouldn't be looking at due dates for my potential baby this month and seeing how far pregnant I could be by my birthday and whether I could have had a viable scan complete with heartbeat etc by then :o

When Im bored at work I count out 40 weeks on the calendar...

Yes, sounds abit like a plunger ! Delightful !

Metranil - What symptoms did you have with your 1st?? I suppose that they might be the same with a second, except if it's the opposite se x !

Where do you ladies buy internet cheapies from ? Tests here can only be purchased in pharmacies, and are about €10 a pop. Too much to test early every cycle !

    Home Health, amazon etc.

Where do you live? Do you mean you cant buy pg tests in supermarkets?

The internet ones are still much cheaper than supermarket ones though.
  • Hi everyone :o

I've been lurking for a while and trying to pluck up the courage to join in, but thought it was time I said hello...

This is our first month of TTC our first (and probably only!) baby, I'm 32 and DH is nearly 33. I'm currently on CD 20, and I think 3 DPO and the waiting is killing me already. It's my first month of charting so it's still all guesswork really.

Oh and Fertility Friend says that if I conceive this month, my due date will be 2 June :D

Did anyone see the article in the guardian yesterday about TTC? As usual some thoughtless comments in the comments section - but some were helpful. I thought we all here might appreciate this one:

"Infertility carries a similar stress burden to having a diagnosis of cancer. it is grief for a loss that recurs over and over. Studies have shown that half of women who've suffered infertility said it was the most upsetting experience of their life. It certainly was for me. And women who've been through infertility have much higher rates of alcoholism and mental illness.

    http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletters/Harvard_Mental_Health_Letter/2009/May/The-psychological-impact-of-infertility-and-its-treatment

It's easy to say "there are worse things", but until you've been there yourself, you can't empathise with the absolute agony infertility causes. I know you're probably trying to help, but it's not helpful to invalidate someone else's legitimate pain by telling them other people have it worse. When you're there, infertility does feel like the end of the world, and you'll try anything to gain some hope."
