Cheap but then add postage on at £6.80 and yes it's decent but they sold these in Aldi for £29.99!
  • Hi, just a quick question, I tried my portable hard drive as well as a 4gb sd card in this stereo & they found the source but wouldn't play anything. Am I doing something wrong or do the files not need to be in seperate album folders?. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also get the memory settings not being saved but will get that fixed at Halfords tonight

Worse thing I ever did was to purchase this ! And deal with that company.

Mine didnt look new to start with then turned out to have 2 faults on it after 2 days of it been fitted.

Called and spoke to there technical people who agreed it was faulty and to send it back, i asked for a refund as i didnt want a replecment, so i daid as they said and sent it back with a letter stating this and the fact that the guy i spoke to said they would pay postage also.

EDIT - One fault was poor signal strenth ! Plug the old radio back in perfect with that thing could oly pick up a few very local stations with my other loads more, nothing to do with my aerial as the old radio works fine.

Few days later another turns up ! Sent them e-mails, they were been read but no replys so i Called them and they must have not read the letter the guy said send it back and i would get a full refund along with postage again.

Few days later i got a refund for the amount less the postage, i have sent them yet another e-mail was read but no reply. I will give them till friday before i kick off good style at them !

    NEVER buy from them

You need a booster for the radio - your old radio probably had one fitted already inside it (most factory fitted radio's do). You can get them off ebay.

Ok, so I bought 2 of these last year for both my old bangers and ever since installation both of them have the memory loss prob as mentioned earlier, BUT only with some radio stations.

If I tune it into Heart FM and Radio 1 they stay in the memory, but any other stations just vanish as soon as ignition is off!

I haven't rang the tech line yet - it's just been one of those 'haven't got round to doing' jobs, especially as I use CD's 99% of the time, but being as I saw that this thread had come back into life I thought I'd pose the question!!! Especially as Heart FM is really beginning to do my head in!!!

    Any ideas folks? :)

    Same problems, different year!

You need to switch two of the wires so the memory is connected to the battery and not the ignition - can't remember exact colours (orange and yellow rings a bell???) - Read the thread, it's all in there as I had to do this as well

    Hi,

I did read all the thread yesterday but as I am only having partial memory issues I didn't want to alter the wires and lose the whole lot!

I would have thought that it would be an 'all or nothing' thing with the wires, not an 'all, nothing or something' thing!

Where is 'myusernamestaken' when you need him/her?!!!

Is it not exactly the same problem as mentioned here?

One wire for power goes to the battery and another wire for power goes to the ignition.

The idea being that the ignition will switch the main power on and off in the unit, but the battery will also power the memory.

The memory for the radio stations is wired up wrongly to the ignition, when the ignition goes off, it cuts the power to the memory and memory is lost.

It should be swapped around - simple to do, just pop the leads out of the back and put them in the correct spot.

Think I might have looked on AVforums for a complete how to - google it and it's a commen problem with this unit.

Well, I'll deffo give it a go asap, but it is just a bit strange how it seems to permanently save just the same 2 stations all the time and not any others!

Wouldn't mind so much if it would save 2 half decent stations, but Radio1 and Heart FM aren't my kinda thing!!!

Will google it too - thanks for your reply :)

For me, for this price, you have to expect it to not be perfect. Others complain at the smallest things, but for me - when you pay for a fiat, don't expect a ferrari!
