£55 for wirework baskets!!
Well done everyoneyou're definately keeping me going :T , if I was doing this by myself I'd have folded and bought my lunch and a dvd (my usual Friday treat!)
I listed a few more items on ebay last night. A part time job that will fit in around my own work has finally appeared and I've got an application form ready to fill in, not sure how much extra a week it'll be, but it's extraso fingers crossed!
I was hoping to pay off £100 today but I need to check when my mobile bill is due out and how much it is and I've gone and locked myself out of my account and have to wait till Monday now to unlock it  silly silly me!0 -
Hi Emily, can I join too please? I really think this is a great thread. I have credit card debts of approx 25000:eek: But I have come to the point of realising not to use them any more. :T Thank you for the inspiration and if I can knock £1,000 off it will be a great start. xxx£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Hi All
I have paid off 100. which is my usual monthly offering to barclays. Have been listing lots of books on Amazon and have sold about 15 this week so when I get paid that can go straight towards card. I was thinking about a bootsale tomorrow but chickened out as I have a cold but I will have one soon. I will also start sorting out bits for ebay.
Must cut back on shopping Febs bill was 498. This month is 409. so cut down a bit. I don't suppose that is too bad for 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 cats and a hungry labrador. There was a couple of birthdays in there too!
Will keep updated as I knock off a bit more of the balance.
To everyone that is doing the challenge, well done on successes so far, its great to see people motivated and keep up the good work and let us know whats working for you.
Thanks everyone for keeping me motivated.credit card balances March 2008 £5159.11Time to pick myself up and start again.0 -
Slightly off topic, but did anyone watch Horizon last week? It was about anti-aging creams and apparantly named Boots Protect and Perfect serum as the only one which actually works! Demand for this has now done through the roof, all shops are sold out. Anyway, my point is these are now going for crazy money on ebay!! I dug 2 unopened sample sizes out of my bottom drawer last night which i'd received as part of gift sets and put them on to make money for this challenge - they are both selling well already :j
So if you have any hanging around, it maybe worth listing them - if you search completed listings you will see that 1 7ml sample sized tube went for over £40  clearly not a moneysaving buyer :rotfl:0 -
Wish I had some anti ageing cream to sell! Might raid mum's house and see if she's got any!!
I've joined a couple cashback sites and applied to be a mystery shopper - any got any personnal experiance with these and any preferences/tips?
I'm at work this weekend and my boss called me yesterday to offer me a promotion! WOOHOO! So that'll be a bit extra in my pay packet - although not sure when it will start.
Hope you all have a top week xlightbulb moment Jan 07 - DFW 417!debtwas£32k

Hope its all going well. I went out this weekendshould not have done it but my frend begged me, but I used my cash card rather than my credit card so less nice things in my shopping this week!! The extra cash jar is going ok... not gone into it yesterday and im raiding my boyfriend or eveything that he has in his pockets!! I havent got a total yet but lets see!! Im putting som things on ebay this week and i've got millions of textbooks from when I did my degree in teaching. do you think that they wil sell? and should I put them on amazon or ebay? Thanks for all ur help this will give me the boost I need to get rid of my debts woooooooooooo!

Hi All
I started putting things on ebay - managed to convince my boyfriend that he didn't need to keep his "Ali G In The House" Soundtrack CD - although if it actually sells I'll owe him £10 as I said it never would. Finally found the leads to my digital camera, just need batteries now!! Have also sorted through my millions of bags in preperation to photograph and sell.
I also had an interview for a new job this week, it would be working at Stoke City Football Club, boys in shorts- I so desperately want to get it, I have everything crossed but was told that because of my age (22) I had done really well just to get an interview. Well wish me luck anyway I should hear back this week!

Hey people.....
Another month and another chunk off the debt.....
Got paid last week....and paid off the GM card......:T
£125 not a kings ransom but at least its going in the right direction.....
Also paid £300 off on the GM card !!!!
My plan between now and when I get paid again in 21 daysis to see how many overseas trips I can get work to send me on (for every day I'm away from home its an additional £25 in my pocket....) ...lets forget the fact I should be using that money for my meals (lunch and dinner) but where there is free cash there is a DFW way of making sure it goes on paying off debt....
My secret is to travel with a plastic 'zip-loc' bag and a plastic container (the type you put your lunch in). Since the room and breakfast is paid for by the company ....and most hotels in europe serve a buffet breakfast, get the evening meals from the buffet breakfast.
How...... Get there early to avoid the odd glares.... but boiled eggs, cold meats, cheese, fruits and if your really feeling brave the small packes of cereals will all keep for 12 hours without going bad.....Ideally go back to your room and put them into the mini bar fridge.....
When you get back after a hard day at work you'll have a nice continental evening dinner.... all washed down with some squash (brought in from home)..Living with the legacy of bad decisions....but Proud to be dealing with my debts !:j Official DFW Nerd No. 3620 -
As well as the overseas trips thing, try and get as much work mileage as possible - I got £175 last month, from probably about £75 of fuel - the extra's supposed to contribute to wear & tear & insurance etc, but as that's already budgetted for it's cash in my pocket as far as I'm concerned!
I've still not got internet at home (boo!) but am intending to come into the office over the Easter weekend to list a load of stuff on Ebay - will have to see if I've got any of that Boots serum stuff too!
If necessary I will put my £2 coin savings to this challenge, although it was supposed to be for a summer holiday, so that will be even more of an incentive for me to find other ways of paying off the overdraft!Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Oh, and if you get work mileage paid at less than 40p a mile, remember you can claim the difference back from the taxman. You need a P87 form, which can be downloaded from directgov.gov.ukTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
