Credit Card Challenge Anyone?

Hi everyone :D

I need some motivation to get my Capital One card cleared ASAP so wondered if anyone was up for a little group credit card clearing session?

I did this a little while back in a head to head challenge and it was a great success but for one reason or another I couldn't complete it. But now, I have to complete it so that I can move out next year :j .

Ok, so the criteria to join is that you have to have a credit card, overdraft, loan or other debt that you want to clear in the region of £1,000. My Capital One card is currently £940.

I really want to get this cleared before the end of April if I can but definitely the end of May at the very latest. So I think the duration of the challenge should be 2 months (finishing at the end of May).

Anything goes, as long as you can get that balance down (legal of course ;) ). It would be great to get a few people involved as then if someone finishes early then there are other people there to keep it going.

Just reply in this thread if you want to jump on board :o

Of course you can join, hopefully you can get that extra £750 by the end of April with some motivation from this challenge.

    Hi Ehallett

I too want to join please, I have an overdraft of £500 that I want to clearand my car inurance is due at the beginning of July - I've had a quote of £517, so I need to save £1017 in total.

    Ready.. Set.. Go..

Oh BTW, As I am new to this do you have any idea's of how I can get this money, my OH caught me looking through his cd collection yesterday for sell on ebay and has now hidden them (I don't want to sell my cd's as I actually have taste!!! - Unlike his rubbish!) I work 50+ hours a week so a second job wouldn't be feasible and I'm salaried at work so overtime is not payable. I'm trying to make money on the web but haven't seen any legitimate ways of making decent money

  • Can I join too?! I was actually going to do this anyway but a bit of support would be good :)

I've started clearing out my room to ebay as much as possible along with collecting points on pigsback and lightspeed (I've just ordered £20 of vouchers from pigsback) and keeping my eyes peeled for any part time jobs that fit round my other work. Also looking towards claiming bank charges back, got all my statements ready, need to open an umbrella account now before I post off the letter!

BUT I've got to fork out for road tax tomorrow so I need to get into gear!

Ooh great idea! I've got about 1500 quid on my credit card, but my outgoings are too high for me to make more than about £50 overpayment each month.

Can I join in with the target of paying off as much as I can and getting some ideas for how to carry on after you have all finished?
