I'm so mad today! i got paid and was going to pay £400 off my credit card, but the lovely Inland revenue has messed up and taken all my money again. this month i've been on basic rate tax in both my jobs! they've taken over £200 again this month. grrrr. Instead i've only been able to pay £150, as well as £120 off another card and paying my sister's money back. So i didn't even get it under the £1k mark which i was so excited about. :( not happy!!

Can I join in too please, I really need some motivation to get me going as I have become static since Christmas really. I have a credit card with a balance of 2400 on it. My aim is to have that cleared by my birthday in July. Bring it on!
    October make £10/day currently £11.02

Welcome :D - you live in Portsmouth?

Yes Em, I'm currently sitting in my office with a lovely view of the Spinnaker Tower!

Just been sorting out my money for this month now I've got my payslip & have put in my expenses - should have about £270 from my wages to throw at the OD (though need to check the minimum payment on the CC before I get an exact figure!)

I've just written a strongly worded email to Virgin about £50 of mine that NTL have been hanging on to for over a year - threatened to start legal proceedings if I don't have the dosh back in 2 weeks...

I'm going to start sorting out stuff to Ebay, though as I don't have internet at home at the moment it's a bit awkward as I end up coming into the office on weekends just to use the PC!

I think this challenge will be very good for me though in terms of really curbing my spending as I'm only looking at a couple of months rather than longer-term. I reckon if I'm good I could shave £100 off my 'spends' budget this month, but I do have a couple of birthdays, friends visiting & Easter to contend with!

I would like to get rid of my credit card this year ASAP, so I could try and get that down as much as possible.

Ooo I'd like to join - it would be nice to clear a whole debt like the sofa but since thats interest free it makes sense to aim for £1000 off MBNA (22%) by the end of may - hopefully!!
  • Can I join Emily have a barclacycard debt of £3500 would be great to make a large inroad into that by the end of may?
Are there any rules for this challenge

  • I've made a start by listing 6 lots on ebay. :j 2 items of clothing i bought in the sale but am never going to wear (luckily the tags still on :D ) and some cosmetics i got for free in Boots.

I am going out tommoro night but have volunteered to be the driver  . Not quite so much fun but means i'll get (soft) drinks bought all night from friends hoping for a lift :rotfl:
  • There's a good chuck of my £20/week 'spending money' left in my purse at the minute and i was just thinking "great, i'll spend as little as possible out tommoro night pay the remainder straight off card on monday"

but then i remembered i need to buy some power steering fluid for my car  (its not going round corners very well at the minute  ) ah well, maybe it won't be too expensive  i know nothing about car maintainance!!

edit: its £5.99 in halfords! woo hoo i thought it would be much more!!

    Hi everyone

Welcome to all newcomers :D - it's great to see so many people joining in.

I've been accepting all the mystery shopping jobs that I can over the past couple of days and all the jobs that I have got so far will get me around £40 in total plus a few freebies and free meals :D .

I'm also going to look for a few more things to list on Ebay tonight. I've already got 10 items on there that are finishing on Sunday so hopefully they will get me some extra cash.

I have also applied for a job audio typing from home. I don't know if I would get anywhere with it but you never know if you don't try. It's something that I could possibly take into work and do on my laptop during my lucnh hours or when I go round my boyfriends house at the weekends.
