Hello dear Robin, popping in to say :hello:, sorry to hear you have been feeling poorly.
The story about CD and the chicken made me smile, she truly is clever
Dear dear Dot I am so very sorry to hear about poor DD2. Hugs to you and the rest of the family. As you know I have personal experience of lost babies and have also experienced lost DGC before they arrived. It's a sad situation to have to deal with and takes time. Be kind to yourself as well as DD as you too are grieving.

Yup... I've seen some very odd posts across the web on forums, but sometimes people just aren't sure what to do, it would seem. I have seen one star given as a review on Am@zon which otherwise praised the product, for example.
Re your phone probs Robin - similar here. My DS works for a mobile phone company that also does our phone & net, so I now leave everything on that side to him, apart from my paying the bills!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Granny thank you so much for your lovely message, I really appreciate it. I realise now that you too have suffered loss and of course you can understand. How is your DIL coming along? Do the girls know that they are going to have a little brother? (I did read that they are having a little boy didn't I? Or did I dream it?)
I hope your absence from your diary is as a result of interweb issues and not something more sinister, Robin, hopefully one of El Divo will be back soon and get you back online.
My DGD was a little s0d this morning, very grumpy. She was not impressed that Mr Dot wasn't here (he is away this weekend) and went all round the house shouting Dandad. After breakfast I dressed her and normally let her run around barefoot, but she immediately said 'soc' so I put her socks on, then she said 'soos' so I put her shoes on then she went to get her coat and said 'MummyDaddyBaby! I can take a hint! Her mum was thrilled to bits when I took her home early and told her why!0 -
Hello Diary and Dear Friends, :hello:
It's a new week. Time for Robin to self-administer a sharp slap on the backside and climb out of the slough of despond.* [* Don't have a chance to use this marvellous phrase very often - probably just as well!].
No, Dot there were no problems with the interweb connection (well, not after remembering that I'd put m'dongle in my bag so lappy had every excuse for shutting down it's prog when asked to connect - result of another futile attempt to approach the 'phone/internet suppliers on Saturday).
Daft Dogs and I broke our NSD run - 15 days this time <I think> so not bad. Our bargain successes featured wood in many forms; trees, posts, firewood and - toilet rolls lol.
The despond was caused by memories. Loss. Knowing how Dot's DD is feeling; remembering that overpowering grief for a babe who had to leave the wheel of life long before stepping onto it..
Two decades later I can no longer recall the dates of those early miscarriages. Oh the most harrowing ones are deeply engraved; the ones labelled still-birth and neonatal death - those dates still bring a pang of what might have been, as each birthday comes around and I look at my lost children's age-mates who are already making their way in the world.
Knowing that so many women carry the same sadness locked deep within - rarely spoken of - an experience that inevitably molds us; I hope making us better able to cope with Life's future challenges.. A hidden sisterhood.
My garden was neither the consolation nor inspiration it usually is. Everywhere I look, I can see PC's absence; he was not a gardener as such, regarding the nurturing of plants and trees as my job. Instead he revelled in building paths and terraces on the steepest land, keeping it tidy by removing unwanted suckers and ill-placed branches from the trees, pulling up thistles before they got big enough to hurt, putting everything away in it's place..
We spent hours working in the garden, not exactly together but in harmony, definitely.
Now? I can't do it all. It was supposed to be our retirement project. PC's list of capital improvements is still on the wall; only 'patio roof' has been crossed off although the 'predicted completion dates' for another four items have already passed. Meanwhile the recent rain has prompted a surge in plant growth - weeds are now rampant and threatening the veg, some of which is also starting to bolt as we can't eat lettuce and broccoli fast enough!
Those failures are impacting on the other things I'm supposed to be doing; paperwork the most important - it's literally the elephant in every room (except the bathroom!).
So there we have it; confessed my slough, and now must move on.
Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to leave comments recently. Will try and respond individually but can't do so now, because:
RL is calling. Her name is Clever Dog and she'd like me to open the fridge door, right now, please please! :rotfl:0 -
I sat and read your diary yesterday. You're one brave lady and I hope life becomes easier for you.

Oh dear Robin we are allowed a pit of despair moment or three, and already you have moved within / out of it simply by posting here.
Shame about the dongle location issue, but no harm.
I wondered if you could perhaps find a soul who would enjoy the garden as much as you who could assist. I would be there in a heartbeat but you would end up with a permanent lodger and Doglet would join the pack!

Oh Darling Robin, it's been a while since you mentioned PC to us, and yet he must be in your thoughts ever such a lot. I thought of you this weekend, while Mr D was away, the house seemed so empty(yet we spend much of our time doing our own thing in different rooms), and I just felt lost. I didn't even enjoy having DGD here as much as usual, as much of the joy of having her here revolves round watching them play together, and she clearly thinks I am a boring old Granny, hence her deciding to cut short our weekend lol. Just for a fleeting moment I thought that this is how it will be if he goes before I do, which is when I thought of you. I would have posted and told you, but didn't want to upset you - yet there you were, missing your Darling PC at the same time.
His passing is still quite recent, isn't it love, and you must still be finding your way on your lonely journey. Rest assured that we, your friends in the box, will travel it with you offering comfort and support, which you so generously reciprocate and which is so, so cherished by us all.
Take care and give your El Divo boys a big hug when you can, because if you don't - I certainly will!0 -
Thinking about you as alwaysWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
