Aaaaaaaaaah grate it! Never thought on that! Very clever!
Bournville would always have been my fav, but have to say I've fallen in love with the Asda Smart Price bar which is 30p  Seriously good choc for the money! (Plus a bigger bar than the B
)
Ref the books: I hear ya! lolJust promies you'll keep writing on here as I'm rather enjoying it
:D
One day maybe...
Meant to ask if the Shetland Pony is actually the one on the 3 ads...Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Oh Robin you must write about the medals, you really, really must. I can still remember reading about them on here; I read ever such a lot and can HONESTLY say I have NEVER been transported (probably the wrong word but I'm clearly not as articulate or eloquent as you are lol) as I was that day. Once I finished reading I blinked, looked around and realised with a start where I was. The written word is a powerful tool, you know that you write beautifully, we tell you often enough, and I would never patronise you and tell you that you are better than you are, you really are BL00DY GOOD. I firmly believe that if we are given a gift we should share it. I understand the lack of time, and I know that you are not always in the best of health; however lack of confidence should not hold you back. How are you going to know how very good you are if you don't 'grasp the nettle' and go for it? We are both encouraging Piq to follow her dream and use the talent she has, and you should do the same.
Love the idea of you following me on my harley davidson in your van with the daft dogs - my oh my what as sight we would be:rotfl:
I won't have to worry about peeling layers of clothes off though as I shall be wearing my nightie with a leather jacket, biker boots and full face helmet. Having spent my life flouting convention and wearing clothes that others with less imagination and misplaced confidence consider less than suitable and fully intend to morph into an eccentric old lady. I may even consider smoking cheroots and swigging jack daniels from a hip flask securely secreted in the bottom of my tartan shopping trolley on wheels that old ladies favour.0 -
Oh Dear Dorothy, You have just morphed into Supergran in my brain. Do you remember the series from the 70's ? Wee wumman, big tartan bunnet ....... scooter I think .....Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

Good [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon Diary and dear MSE Friends, :hello:
Feel for everyone in the UK today, shivering beneath unseasonal blankets of snow. It's not the best time for Earth Hour:

..I shall switch off electric lights on behalf of us all (solar lamps charging up, candles at the ready).

Socks is so cute, isn't he? Not yer typical Shetland, that one.. :rotfl:
We heard Owner's Dad before seeing him, yesterday: Very garbled yelling as he trudged up the hill in the rain - Pony noticed of course and moved off briskly. At which point I realised CD was no longer at her look-out post. Uh-oh. Soon spotted her, standing still just outside the gate, intently watching the pony approach. When he saw her, Pony stopped walking along the track and they made a tableau, just staring at each other.
Meanwhile Owner's Dad had enough time to creep up behind Pony and grab his trailing rope. Not the way I'd have done it, but effective thanks to CD. The bloke gave us a cheery wave before heading off, towing his somewhat reluctant charge.
And guess what? This morning Pony is back - but it looks like he's tied to a bush so O.Dad must have decided to make use of the free grazing, lol. Can't see a water bucket but that's no surprise - I'll take one over later <sigh> as I do for the other three horses who are sometimes tethered near the Nest (local men reckon I'm batty - some of 'em happily admit to leaving equines for up to three days without giving them a drink ). Just hope Pony isn't prone to laminitis or colic.Oh Robin you must write about the medals, you really, really must. Phew. Thanks.Take your point about not wasting such gifts as we have.. That's just the kind of kick up the backside I need.

O-kay. In which case I'd better add space-blankets and resuscitation gear to the equipment carried by the support vehicle. Probably need a wheel-chair too..
Dot, summat tells me you have absolutely no idea how cold it gets when travelling on a bike at speed, even in mid-summer.
Your image is startlingly wonderful, but the reality would be pain! (Btw, you do have a full licence? Don't think Harley make a <125cc bike). You are aware that we would need all my El Divos to hold a Harley upright while it's not under power?
..The image just keeps getting better and better! :rotfl:Having spent my life flouting convention and wearing clothes that others with less imagination and misplaced confidence consider less than suitable and fully intend to morph into an eccentric old lady. I may even consider smoking cheroots and swigging jack daniels from a hip flask securely secreted in the bottom of my tartan shopping trolley on wheels that old ladies favour.
Sounds like you're really looking forward to your dotage, Dot. :rotfl:
I shall cut my grey hair, and wear purple at every opportunity.0 -
Hahaha - you are absolutely right, Robin, I am indeed relishing the thought of turning into a Dotty old Dot! When the kids were little I would keep them entertained for hours with my stories of what I would get up to when I was 70, and some of them (the Harley Davidson one in particular) has become an urban myth in the making!
I find that the older I become, the more I enjoy my life. I can't wait to see what I will be up to in ten or so years when I retire - rest assured that I shall still be here and will regale you with details of my various adventures.0 -
Hello again, am back.
Absolute deluge here - an hour ago it was falling as sleety snow (unheard of at this low altitude!).
Poor ol' Pony is huddling beneath a bush, looks dead miserable (but at least his stumpy legs allow him to get under cover; it's not a large bush!).
Daft Dogs have returned to bed as thunder rumbles overhead and rain hammers on the roof. Not looking forward to the inevitable trip outside for more firewood, am going to get soaked. :shocked:I find that the older I become, the more I enjoy my life.
Generally, I agree with you - Life certainly became sweeter at forty.I can't wait to see what I will be up to in ten or so years when I retire - rest assured that I shall still be here and will regale you with details of my various adventures.
Wahey - hope you're right; something to look forward to, eh?0 -
Oh yes, we have much to look forward to dear friends.
Mara, I do seem to have vague memories of SuperGran, and Robin's right, a harley davidson is perhaps a tad too powerful, so perhaps a little scooter would be more appropriate. Would you happen to have a tartan beret I could avail myself of in a few years?0 -
Dorothy, A local gift shop sells those Tartan tammies, with the red hair attached .... also called "hey you Jimmy" hats . When the time comes, Ill send one down to you. You will need to learn to talk Glaswegian to really do it justice , Im sure I saw someone on here from glasgow who can give you a few lessons.
:rotfl::D
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
Mara Darling, I will indeed learn to speak Glaswegian as well as you speak Spanish:rotfl:0

Hello Diary and MSE Friends, :hello:
Apologies for recent lack of updates; rendered speechless by the news that am to become a step-great-grandma!
..Which is something I was certainly not expecting for another decade or so - feel far too young to be a matriarch!
Might not be around much this week as the school holidays have started; DGD arrives tomorrow.0
