Hello Diary and dear Friends, :hello:
A stiff breeze has scattered the clouds that obscured my view yesterday, revealing glorious patches of deep blue sky - against which the snow-covered mountains look chocolate-box perfect.
Yes, we've got plenty of snow too; though don't have to wade through it as soon as we're outside our door - for which am very grateful! ..But as you are unanimous, Be Lucky, HAW and NewLeaf, I've started watching flight prices rather than booking a ferry.
Meanwhile Probate Chap hasn't given up on regarding me as a potential income stream, but I now have some alternative recommendations to investigate; must progress PC's paperwork before making this trip.
Top of today's List is the ISA I've taken out with the wrong bank. ..Think I have seven days to change my mind?
Also need to spend more time in the garden - after so much rain, the weeds are beginning to bolt so must be got rid of while I've still got enough strength to pull out their roots.
The potatoes are reaching for the sky as well - it's time to earth 'em up if I want a decent crop.
Spuds may have to wait though, as I must garner energy for a trip into town on Friday which means not being too ambitious with physical tasks before then.
So it goes.0 -

Yes of course, but the ground here is absolutely saturated; even if the weather changed to become nothing but hot and sunny, I've got at least a week before the surface moisture sinks/evaporates.missrlr wrote:Hello, I think you have had the same bug as DH had- he is in the night sweats and fever stage STILL although just had news Doc says bladder infection so he is on bed rest, Anti-Bs and I think bang goes our trip.
 MummyRobin would check:
1. Is DH's fever fluctuating - gets higher when he's tired.
2. Has he got/had low back pain?
3. Urine - frequency or appearance altered, or difficulty passing?
4. Any episodes of confusion, probably when tired?
5. Have any close contacts suffered similar symptoms recently? (Though if DH's lifestyle involves meeting lots of people, using public transport etc., then that's more difficult to identify).
Am surprised your GP has a lab at the surgery, in order to be able to process DH's urine sample instantly. I've never come across any NHS GPs with such facilities (although my [private] Spanish GP shares his building with a medical analysis lab, so does offer a very fast service - at a price, of course).
Sorry. Have become somewhat cynical of late, following our experiences last year.
Can say am quite certain 'my' lurgi is viral and nothing to do with m'waterworks, so if your GP is correct then DH and I have not got the same bug - although I know a lot of folk scattered across the UK who have had very similar symptoms recently.
Anyway, hope DH starts to feel better very soon - keeping fingers xxxed that you won't have to abandon your excursion on Friday.0 -
yes - all of the above apply!
It was POC test for protein and pus (standard kit) combined with above is indicative of infection usually. But has gone for more tests due tomorrow. We shall see. I thought it was viral to begin with .... we shall see.
I do not have it and neither have any of our guests and happened after lots of work contact so .....Start info Dec11

Missrlr I do hope your DH starts feeling better very soon..
Too many setbacks today - probably have a retrograde mercury as communication is proving challenging, to say the least.
Clever Dog is getting ideas above her station. She waits a few minutes after she's finished her lunch, then comes and shouts at me - whether or not she's only had a half portion of biscuits and gloop. What she wants is chicken - ask her and she'll tell you pretty clearly even if you're not fluent in Dogg.
Robin thinks chicken-day comes three times a week, or every other day if am feeling soft.
The only way of appeasing CD is to show her tomorrow's chicken fresh out of the freezer. She'll guard it quite happily until given her share - won't help herself even after it's defrosted..
It's as if, having reminded me that tomorrow must include chicken because today didn't, she is content.
She won't stray far away from the plate though..
Having given up on trying to organise my and PC's affairs, decided to start more seeds - can always give the trays to DS or DIL1 if it turns out that I'm not here to plant 'em out. But someone didn't put her bucket full of potting soil under shelter - it's full to the brim with black water. <sigh>
Which leaves the weeding. Am certainly in dire need of some Practise today!0 -
