It's been a fairly productive day in the Nest, all things considered.
..In short bursts with snoozey bits between activities, but progress nevertheless: Paperwork pile is reduced, firewood pile replenished. Daft Dogs enjoyed a short walk between showers. Managed to cook m'self a decent dinner, although not the broad beans (they'll be better next week so slaughtered a lettuce for prawn salad instead. Yummy - oh Dot; am a kilo down this week thanks to the lurgi).
Even had another look at savings accounts and shifted some of DDuties fund to an a/c paying 3% interest which appears to be the best on offer (no, not Sant@ander).The_Dragon wrote: »No test results yet (the fact that they have mucked me around big time with appointments and I have had to do all the chasing for tests I don't even want to have makes me :mad::mad:)
Dr Dragon is not happy about the appointments (07.45 hours Monday morning anyone? oh and it will takes us 45 mins to get there :eek:), Furry Dragon is, however, enjoying the fire being lit :rotfl:
Oh dear, am so sorry for all the frustration you must be feeling. As for giving you an appointment at 0745 - amazing the staff are in that early, really. Don't suppose you had the option to say:
"No thanks - give that one to someone who's got to be at work by 0830.." Rush hour is not fun either. Well, can only say: Hope your experience on Monday is better than expected, and yields useful [hopefully positive] results.
Cuddles for Furry Dragon and apologies to DrD for forgetting his title.dorothy52 wrote:Good to see you posting again, love, even if it is to tell us how poorly you are.
Oh dear - was trying to say am on the mend! ..Had to light the stove this evening; fever is no longer keeping me warm. Count that as good news.missrlr wrote:DH gone down with lurgy now so am providing nurse assistance
Oh no, not another one - hope DH appreciates having your help!
Right. Bedtime again.
More rain due tomorrow so [yet again] PPI is top of the Paperwork To Do List.
Sleep well everyone.0 -

Hello Robin, I just found this diary thanks to highly positive comments on Piquant's wonderful one - I have read and sniffled through the first few pages and wanted to comment to a) say hello and b) find it again more easily.
I wish you a good day filled with improving health, Robin. We have snow again here too but as we are in a river valley and not up in the dales, it probably won't get too bad.
Happy Mother's Day to those who are mums. Mine looks like being a good one, may yours be too.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hello Diary and MSE Friends, and welcome to mcculloch29, :hello:please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »Happy Mum's Day Robin Xx
Indeed it is Happy Mummy Day (as my kids called it when they were little)...The one day of the year when they all made an effort not to argue, to present me with hand-crafted gifts [many of which I still treasure] and make a co-operative effort to cook dinner (oh how I wish we'd videoed the best of those occasions, where every child contributed a dish to the feast
).
This year two of the boys have sent lovely messages (the other two have probably forgotten the English date. Spanish Mothers' Day is different). Am due a visit from one, but don't think it will involve a free meal this year, lol.please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »If it makes you feel any better about the rain, we have snow here again
Don't you just! I would have too, if the Nest were a few hundred metres higher up the mountain - it is so beautiful to look at, all the hard rock edges softened by snow.. Tbh am grateful we're below it (have too many plants that wouldn't survive the experience).

Thank you for joining in, Mcculloch, though I hope reading my diary brings you more smiles than sniffles - at the Nest we try to find some positives even during Life's setbacks..
The funds I shifted yesterday have all arrived at their destinations, but there's still a chunk which is on a derisory interest rate. Am wondering again about peer to peer lending - maybe adapting that idea to something more personal, more MSE (Dot can you see where this is going?).0 -
Hello Robin, I too have been reducing the paperwork mountain and a myriad of other tasks
Glad you are on the mend

Glad you are on the mend, and what a great start on the weight loss - well done.
Very sad news - DD2 lost her baby last night, very early miscarriage so the whole family is upset today. She is young and has been assured that all is in good working order so she can try again soon, however it doesn't stop her (and us) from grieving for the child we have lost. Sigh.0 -
Ah Dot that's awful. I know unfortunately just how awful and my heart bleeds for you all. The day before Mother's Day too
Big hugs to you all Xx
