Hello again Diary and wonderful, caring Friends,
Thank you very much for your well-wishes, Be Lucky, HAW and Missrlr.
Hmm, well I dozed through the afternoon with the door open. Both CD and FD disappeared for a while [I think] so presumably walked themselves without incident (expect FD just went snuffling in her favourite avocado orchard while CD probably visited the farm dog up the road).
Fingers xxxed nobody turns up to complain they were a nuisance..
Still feeling rough. Lappy has got good net connection even from bed though - a nice surprise, never tried to use it here before.Means I can abandon thoughts of lighting stove, just stay snuggled in bed - am a bit over-heated anyway, either have a temp or meno hot flushing.
The clean washing from yesterday can stay on the line 'til tomorrow - at least it's under cover so hopefully not getting soaked again in the squalls. Saw that the river is rising again earlier, too - looks like a stream of molten chocolate from here on the hill.
One of my pre-cooked dinners is heating up in the little oven; not sure exactly what it is as forgot to label freezer pots lol. Sure it'll taste ok though.
Needless to say today is another NSD (shall I count 'em this month?). Only smoked one fag though which is a nice reminder that there are benefits to all situations.0 -
Oh I'm sorry you are not feeling so good, Robin, let's hope you feel better tomorrow, and thank you for letting us know (we are a load of worry warts as you know!) Yes I think it is a tremendous idea to join New Leaf in Demon Dorothy's Weight Loss Club. As you know I challenged NL to lose just a pound a week, and she has completely surpassed my expectations (I'm just so scary you see) Why not try for the same? I know that your condition will prevent you from flinging yourself around the cottage like a demented acrobat with no co ordination (speaking for myself here of course, I am quite sure that NL will be superbly co ordinated), however remember that you don't have a sedentary lifestyle like us (well me, certainly) I spend all day sat at a desk or in a car and live in a bungalow so I have to really give it some welly when I exercise as there is so little opportunity. I challenge you to weigh yourself tomorrow, then when you post a week on Sunday you can report on how much you have lost - there that's a week and a half and I only expect you to lose a pound so I am easing you in gradually. Now.........you really don't want to Disappoint Demon Dot do you? Hm?0

Robin! How can you refuse Dot?!
Go for it!!

Hello Diary and MSE Friends, :hello:
A rather woozy greeting this morning. Assume I have a temperature as hot flushes rarely carry on unabated for hours and hours, but can't confirm it as the people-thermometer's battery is dead. I choose not to be worried enough to be tempted to use Daft Dogs' thermometer!
It rained all night, and this morning the view consisted of Almond Two when I opened the shutters; everything beyond was lost in swirling grey cloud.
Fat Dog ventured outside briefly, then woke me abruptly when she tried to climb under the bed-covers to dry off/warm up! Suspect she was protesting at the lack of a lit, warm stove to bask in front of - FD is a bit sneaky like that.Yes I think it is a tremendous idea to join New Leaf in Demon Dorothy's Weight Loss Club. :rotfl: Thanks for giving me a lovely image, Dot! Ok I'll try for half a kilo a week - and will be mindful to do [STRIKE]more[/STRIKE] as much as I can physically, because my lifestyle too has been rather sedentary of late.
Probate Chap got in touch; insists he wants to start by replacing my EPA with an LPA, and a new British Will. If I go along with it, there will be a four figure bill before anyone even looks at PC's Spanish Probate..
Not sure m'brain is up to responding today.
The sky is clearing - for now, more purple rain is forecast this evening - Alpha Thrush is perched in the highest branches of Almond One, singing a greeting to patches of blue sky that are peeping through the clouds.0 -

! Fresh veggies from the garden sound good!
Alas no, with regret I must decline your kind invitation to join you and DH at the gym, Be Lucky.. Too many germs in those places for me to risk entering of my own free will, sorry.
Yes the garden is doing well at the moment; predators haven't started multiplying yet - although I found the most peculiar looking slug chomping away at a cabbage heart the other day; great bulbous grey skirted beast with odd splotches of black on it's 4" long body. It was carefully re-homed on Nasty Neighbour's land with the aid of a shovel - he'll never know.0 -
Hello all, Doglet also protests by either getting bed duvet or removing blanket from you and dragging it off to sit on or dragging to sit on it on you as appropriate to the room you are in and the perceived chill factor.Start info Dec11

Good God, is the probate guy havin a larf? I am clearly in the wrong job!
I am sorry that you are still feeling poorly (btw what was you incognito dinner last night lol), however am delighted that you have decided to join my elite sliimming club - total membership 3 (including your illustrious leader). According to my wii fit I should be 2lbs lighter than I am so I shall make a concerted effort to shift the final 2 pounds (already lost a stone and a half), and will post my results here on a Sunday then hopefully maintain thereafter. Now think on you two - this is not a competition, I don't want you trying to outdo each other and I end up with a couple of anorexics in 6 months!
I have a couple of days off work which I am really looking forward to as DGD is coming for a sleepover tomorrow and I can't wait. The ache that I feel in my solar plexus will surely dissipate when I finally hold her in my arms and feel her pudgy little arms around my neck. Her little brother will be duly kissed many times as well but he is only 6 weeks old and somewhat indifferent at this stage.
Mr Dot has made her a wendy house from a cardboard ox - it's fab. It has a door and 2 windows and a roof which he has painted brown, and the walls are white and he has painstakingly drawn bricks all over with a marker pen........I wondered what he was doing in the garage all that time. I have also made her a little bed for her dolly from an old shoe box complete with a mattress, a pillow, sheets and a blanket and we are thrilled that it cost us nothing. I am determined to spend as much time as I can playing with her as I seemed to have so little when my kids were younger.
As I decided to join my own slimming club and it was fast day today I have really gone for it and ate nothing until just now when I shovelled beans on toast into me gob so fast I could barely see my hands move.
I hope you feel better soon - the bloody hot sweats are a nightmare, aren't they?0 -
Oh to only need to lose 2 pounds!! I could do with losing 140 poundsDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
