What a strange response to such a kind act, perhaps there is something going on that she's trying to hide
Sorry you had to bear the brunt of her unfortunate ill humour

Stopping lurking to say you have absolutely done nothing wrong, only done what a good friend would do for an old friend. It seems like they have taken a bit of a bashing from someone else in their life who should have had their best interests at heart & you have got the backlash. Please don't take it to heart, she is probably now too embarrassed to contact you which is why she hasn't answered you.0

Hum, not sure what else to suggest unless you fancy divulging the made / model of the printer so I can get the resident cyber hack to search for you
re friend: some people get very touchy and perhaps being in the situation you decsribe she is more sensitive than most about the "don't get something for nothing" or "you owe me" that is pervasive in our society at present.
I would just leave her a few days and then pick up normal conversation again ....
hugs and hope all resolves itself

I think you have borne the brunt of something else going on with friend. That is not a normal reaction to a kind thought/offer/gift.

Hello HAW, :hello:HeadAboveWater wrote: »Rest assured you have done nothing wrong! My friend bought me flights to Glasgow for my 30th birthday (unbeknownst to me) and sent me the booking confirmation inside my card
..Yes, I've had flights given to me in the past too - thought it was a great gift which is why I didn't think twice.HeadAboveWater wrote: »Apparently it's the weather for fall outs and misunderstandings, so you're not on your own
Weather? Season? Retrograde Mercury?
- Don't know, but reckon stress is playing a big part in this case!
Thanks for the dodgy hug - don't get many of those, these days lol.0 -
Hello Granny, :hello:
Lovely to 'see' you again after your break. What a strange response to such a kind act, perhaps there is something going on that she's trying to hide
Of course you've only heard my side.. But then again so have I, hence the confusion.Sorry you had to bear the brunt of her unfortunate ill humour
Thanks, am still upset while trying hard to think myself into my mate's position..
Thanks for the hug too.0 -
Hello Brizzled, :hello:
Thanks for popping in.Wow so many visitors - think you all deserve cake! ..Looking at the store-cupboard, how about coffee and walnut - will that do?

Hear what you're saying. Have backed off for now but am wondering whether this outburst is either an oblique plea for help or covering up a guilty feeling (did the passport money pay bills instead?).brizzledfw wrote: »Wonderful to think of you burning olive wood..so Mediterranean
It's the best! At homehome I would choose apple-logs, but must admit seasoned olive wood gives off more warmth for longer, burns with little smoke and leaves less ash.0 -
Ooooh I luuuuuurrrrve coffee and walnut cake! Yes please!
Hard to know what your friend is thinking without more info. What you've suggested is a possibility....
I bought a candle today - mulled wine and cinnamon appleNot quite so fancy as your olive wood but close enough

Yes perhaps it is a little of that ....
Poor friend if that is the case
But how irritating if it is true for you
