Hello Diary and MSE Friends, :hello:

Been a bit down over the last couple of days.
First because - must be honest - was worried about DS3 riding a motorbike on chaotic Asian city roads. Seemed a huge risk to me as DS is not a biker; has never ridden on the road before, let alone carrying a passenger..
But apparently it wasn't possible to rent a bike outside the city, so...
Good news is that they survived the ordeal; have just been looking at GF's amazing 'photos of paddy fields, wooded mountains, roadside temples and old fashioned native villages where the houses are built on stilts. :D

Not spoken to Divo Three yet so don't know if they found their friend's relatives - although they must have come across an internet cafe on the road. :)

Second reason for being a bit down is that Plan F has become more complicated, mainly because of my short-sightedness in thinking it'd be a good idea to arrange for someone else to pay all the utility bills I was responsible for..
    Hmm.

Garden benefited from m' need to think it all through; old tomato vines are now on the compost. Largest terrace has been dug over, fertilised and half planted up with potato tubers.
Hopefully there will be something to harvest when I return.

Third reason is that I've been a bit slack taking various supplements recently, resulting in a grinding migraine which kept waking me up during the last couple of nights. Meds are holding it in check but wear off after four hours on the dot - bluddy annoying.
Self inflicted though; should know the result of not taking pills by now so deserve no sympathy. Perhaps it's a timely reminder that I can't forget to take 'em if I want to be able to function well enough to travel, sort out Plan F, and help my Carer-Friend & Mum?

Dithering over whether to drive, or leave CD at the Dogotel and fly. There's not a lot of difference in cost, mainly because m' UK car is sorned so it will be expensive to put back on the road (it's much thirstier than the van, and breaks down more often).

Hi Robin. Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Has been good catching up - as always!

You and CD make a good team ;)

Hello HAW, how lovely to see you! :)
You're right; CD and I are good together. Probably a bad idea to leave her behind, even though travelling with a dog is a complication - especially given the intermediate stage which I now think must be inserted into Plan F.

Here's a prediction; whenever I get back, on that day it will start snowing. Am such a fool for not thinking about Plan F back in April. :o

Urg. Wonder if I'll have reached a decision by the time all the spuds are safely planted (these are the end of the last crop which decided to start growing; seemed a good idea to let 'em ;))?

I'm not surprised you're a bit down, one way or another you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Perhaps you need to stand back and take a breath for a moment!

Do you really want to leave CD in a dogotel? It strikes me that she is your anchor in a choppy sea as well as a loving companion.

I would think both you and CD would be miserable with out the other at the moment. So I agree with missrir take her with you.

Can you not send secure messages to your bank to sort problems out rather than ringing. This is what I do with my co op account that I still have in the uk.

Sorry last night's message didn't come out as I had hoped
    So here's another attempt

Fiscal stuff can be sorted and amendments made, might dent your credit record but these things happen. I am sure this can be sorted with some emails and a request for them to call you .......

It is raining cats and dogs over here. So Wellies might be more appropriate but Scotland has snow. Would rather you brought sun back with you if that is all the same!

Now about matters health ..... What can be done? You need to for everyone's sake to be on form. Please please take good care of you

Ear tickles and belly rubs for CD

Can hardly claim to have a hectic lifestyle atm! :rotfl:

Of course you are right; we would both find it an ordeal. _pale_
The first time I had to leave CD [with family] for a couple of months, six years ago when Dad was dying, she spent the entire time - unless eating or out walking with the others - under my bed, very sad. :(
Found three extra "nipples" ??! during our first cuddle when I got back; vet confirmed cancer the next day, and operated three days later - with the best possible result. :T
Of course CD has just had another sticky episode, so really I would very much prefer to keep her with me, especially as she's never been in kennels without the other Daft Dogs.

    Hello Missrlr, :hello:

    Thank you - I am honoured! :T

Hindsight? Hah - choice of laugh or cry; looks like I've come full circle after 35 years!

Presume everything can be set up from afar, but at some point an autograph [or ten] will be required.
A little foresight is needed to arrange the rendezvous - at the list stage atm. :o

It's unanimous, isn't it? Thanks for popping in and voting. :)

How many times a day am I grateful for CD's presence? No idea; lots. :D
She makes me laugh, mops up my tears and is always ready for a cuddle. Keeps an eye on me - always knows where to find me - has never betrayed me, and loves me unconditionally.
Am certain she'd rather have the opportunity to keep me warm on this ill-timed [weather-wise] sojourn at home, than be locked in a kennel with folk and dogs she doesn't know.

Don't mind calling; tends to speed things up and reduce misunderstandings. ;)

    Hi Robin,

If at all practical take CD. She's your puppy soul mate and you both need the hugs and love.

My baby's covered in a fine film of drizzle as is my own slightly dodgy crew cut. The kittens on the other hand are cuddled up on the bed in a blankie and demanding en suite facilities.

I thing our furry friends bring such joy and love and ask for so little in return. For me they help make this house my home.

    Take care,
    KJ x

Puppy soul mate? Love that idea! :p

Aww to the kittens, eek to damp husky - doesn't she mind?
Bar one, all the huskies I've ever met share the breed's instinctive dislike of water (explained to me by a Canadian musher; in the Arctic, if a dog gets wet it will freeze to death before it dries..).
Mind you the one exception mentioned above, loved swimming and had a dab paw for catching fish (she was three generations away from a native Siberian ancestor :rotfl:)!

Agreed. Thinking about it; very much agreed. It doesn't matter where I am, I'll be nervous and unable to settle without my last remaining family companion.. It doesn't matter that she's furry and walks on all fours, we do belong together. :)
Also a consideration that I really should not be constantly thinking about getting back to collect CD from kennels when I need to be concentrating on the reasons for being at home.
