I always buy 2-3 of my favourite toiletries, such as Pantene and Colgate, when I find a good offer on. I periodically have to ban myself though when the two storage baskets are full!
When it comes to food, we will bulk buy Flora when it's on offer and stick it in the freezer.
The cat will not eat all flavours of Whiskas, so when I do see one the 12 pack she will eat all of I buy lots! £2.50 is my target price, although I will "top-up" a box or two if it is £3. I bought a load off Pet Planet when it was 4 for £10 after xmas and only now thinking I need more (4 boxes left).0 -

My cat is equally as fussy, spent a fortune on wasted cheaper cat food which she turned her nose up at. She loves Whiskas gravy which was great when they were £2 on offer in Tesco but when we ran out last week we couldn't find it as cheap. We've tried her with Whiskas fish jelly packets and she loves those too - which is great as it is 48 packets for £10 (bumper box) in Morrisons. If those are they ones your cat likes might be worth getting some0 -
Thanks Mr T for the petrol offers-cereals, Andrex, Whiskas. But not many have mentioned Wilks-recently £1 for Colgate dispenser-ideal for arthritic fingers-I bought a dozen and then went back a few times for more.
All the basic staples are well worth keeping an eye on as everyone else has mentioned.
I find that when in Bristol or Newport areas I don't spend half as much on my normal shop if I go to Morrisons!0 -
We bought 72 tubes of toothpaste when Macleans stopped doing the flavour we liked. It took a lot of searching around different shops - which my husband enjoyed doing!
We always bulk buy on storable stuff when it's on offer, but the toothpaste was our best (worst?!). It took 5 years to get through it all...0 -
The CO-OP IS doing Coco pops for £1.34 from £3 odd I bought 11 today :rotfl: kids thought I was nuts,my first bulk buy ever-loving it!!
Chloe 13 years old and Amelia-Rose born 4/4/07
Gorgeous Harry born 18/04/10 5 weeks early after a nine minute labour!
MFW currently paying £200 extra a month.0 -
I agree with the advice to know what you usually pay for anything that can be bulk bought so you know when you see a bargain.
I won't pay more than 10p per nappy or £1 per pack of wipes for my favoured brands so if I see them at that price I buy as many as I can afford and I'm very lucky that we have space in our loft to store them.
Btw - be aware of jobsworths who make up on the spot rules about how many you can items you can bulk buy ;0)

Surely the secret is to buy enough +1 - the stress levels are wayyyyyy too high for me if I'm on my last of anything .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Tinned tuna when it is on offer is a favourite in our house - student sons practically live on it! Either that, or they are selling it on.....:rotfl:
That reminds me that there are still tins of tuna in the garage from the last time it was very cheap in Asda. This was also bought for our student daughter, who is no longer a student. Mind you, once she goes from being an unpaid intern, with lunches and transport paid, to being a paid intern, I suspect she might start making her own lunches, so I can see the tuna supplies dissipating.
We also bulk buy stuff on special offer, which we know we will use. Still got supplies of Surf in the garage when Tesco had it on B1G2.
Someone posted about cereal being on offer in Sainsburys. FIL always goes on a Friday and I have just asked him to get 6 boxes of Jordans Strawberry Crisp. With 3 people having cereal 5 days a week, that won't last long.0 -
I too very rarely do a 'normal' shop.
We have a local bread man who sells the best rolls on a saturday in our town for 40p a pack of four,so I will stock up on them.
Costco is my friend as well,Velvet toilet tissue was recently £10.48 for 40 rolls this regularly comes up on offer.
Costco meat is also very good.
Anything I usually use and I think is a bargain,is a bargain.0
