    I don't actually know it's origin.
A friend sent it to me in a card when I needed a pick up. Now I read it everytime I feel sorry for myself for whatever reason. :)

I love T-bone steak, but it is rather expensive at its normal price. Several years back, the grocery store where I shopped had a weekly special with T-bone steaks marked down to less than half of the normal cost. It was a great deal. I went nuts and literally packed the whole freezer (a small freezer) full of steaks. I was eating these steaks regularly for the next 6 months.

I actually got sick of T-bone steaks after about about half that amount of time. I believed this to be an impossibility at the time I was buying these massive amounts of meat. Even though the meat is still perfectly safe to eat if it's immediately frozen, a good quality cut loses its flavor after a few weeks I found. I might as well have bought a bunch of cheap meat instead after a while.

I guess the moral of the story is to consider the freshness of the product you're buying before buying massive quantities of it. Even if it's safe to eat, it might not taste that good. Therefore you might be at least somewhat defeating your original purpose if you overdo it when buying certain perishable foods, such as T-bone steaks in bulk.

Bulk buy or stock pile, I seem to be in permanent seige mode in case the money runs dry. For me its coffee, typhoo teabags, cushelle loo rolls, ariel powder and felix agail cat food ( always have 16 boxws of 12 pouches in reserve! ) Other things when on too good to miss offers or clearance, toopaste and brushes, toiletries, No. 7 mens stuff when boots do the £5 vouchers and the bodyshop when theres a glitch :D:D:D and thanks to boots glitch on vitamins I have enough to keep a small army healthy. :D

    I'm constantly playing freezer tetris
But its not just food, I have enough socks to last for about 10 years tucked away and when I found quality saucepan sets last year for silly money I got several and stored them away for when needed and same recently when sainsbobs had some for £2 instead of £24 I bourght a load.

Thats from The Power of One, source unknown AFAIK

One song can spark a moment. One flower can wake the dream. One tree can start a forest. One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship. One handclasp lifts a soul. One star can guide a ship at sea. One word can frame the goal. One vote can change a nation. One sunbeam lights a room. One candle wipes out darkness. One laugh will conquer gloom. One step must start each journey. One word must start a prayer. One hope will raise our spirits. One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom. One heart can know what's true. One life can make the difference. You see, it's up to YOU!

Taj do you have an Aldi near you? Their Magnum washing up liquid has won gold awards with Which. They do a litre bottle for £0.99.

I just went to Appproved Foods and got several items, some of which were:

    12 tubes toothpaste £20p each
    440 teabags for £1.49
Washing clothes liquid £0.99p a bottle (so I bought 6!)
1.5 litres softener for washing clothes £0.99
    Danish biscuits £0.50 per tin
    Mum roll on deodorant £50p

They gave me free delivery as a new customer and as I spent over £30. I am very chuffed and will await my delivery!

Good find, I still have loads of these in the cupboard. Supersavvyme had £1 coupons for Tesco and Sainsburys and when Tesco and Sainsbury's had them on offer 2 bottles for £2.50, you were getting 2 bottles for 50p. :D
  • Found toothpaste and tooth brushes reduced to clear in sainsbobs earlier and couldn't resist buying a few ;)
