ETA: Just saw the Taxi thread so that's one detail - he arrived today
Rupert was found abandoned with an eye infection that had spread to both eyes. Unfortunately both eyes had to be removed, along with all his teeth (rotten) and his thyroid gland. Stressful time for the poor beggar.
He seems to have recovered well but you can feel he's still thin under all his fur. He's an elderly gent (12 years, give or take) and must have been someone's pet before he got ill * and was left.
Since we got home he's had a walk about in the lounge, had a bite to eat and slept a bit. He started off sleeping right in the middle as far away from anything as possible but has been scooting along bit by bit and is now asleep up by the sofa.
