Please do not be ashamed about
You have done a fantastic thing today, - we are here to help and will for as long as you need us to.
Big hug, well done and feel very proud of yourself, you are not quite at steak and chips!
Quick and easy tomoatoe sauce for past -
Value Bacon offcuts - about £1.00
Value Tomatoes - 15p a tin
Put bacon offcuts in a large pan, and leave it to cook through for about 10 mins - add as many probably about three or four tins of toms, add sugar and any old herbs you have in the cupboard, cook for about 25 mins on low heat and whizz with blender or hand held doobrey (that is the technical term!!) hey presto tasty sauce for pasta. Makes loads so freeze in portions for another time

Gemqueen,
I see your online so I hope you are reading all of the replies so far. Many of us have been where you are thinking there is only one way out but we have all been wrong. Becoming a member on here definately helped me to cope with my debt and many other problems.
Please dont do anything silly as your life is priceless compared to debt. PM me if you wish to talk or phone samaritans, just speak to someone as you cant go it alone. We are all here with you.
Please reply to let us know you are ok as we are worried about you.
Welcome to our family of support and no need to apologise

Why are you ashamed? Look at all of us on here, all in debt. It's a fact of life. I'm not ashamed of my debts, I don't like the way they stop me doing the things I want to do, but I am not for one minute embarrassed by them, they are just one part of me - like I'm vegetarian, fat, a rat owner, a horse owner and in debt, my debt doesn't define me and I won't let it.
You can beat this. I don't know about CCCS vs Payplan as I luckily have got a handle on myself before I got too far in debt, but I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Also don't forget the CAB, they can help talk you through things and can advise who to contact, they might be able to help you on which is better for you.
I'm glad you're still with us, I have been suicidal in the past, indeed taken overdoses, but at the end of the day I'm glad I'm still here.0 -
Well done Gemqueen!!!!!!

I haven't posted before but was thinking about you all night as yours was the last post I read here before going to bed. I'm glad you managed to get a bit a sleep. You are doing great. Take little steps and you will get there.

So glad you posted - take each minute, hour, day, week once at a time.
Please dont be worried about CCCS/Payplan- they deal with people like us every day - in fact thats their job;) and they won't judge, they will have had people with lots more debt than you dealing with them.
As for whos best - I think - somebody correct me if I'm wrong - that CCCS require you to make a minimum payment of £5 to each creditor wheras Payplan dont so you need to work out how many creditors you have and times that by £5 - it may be more than you can afford - that is if you were thinking of doing a DMP. Of course, CCCS or Pyaplan will advise you which is the best route to take and you do what feels best for you. Its free advice and you could try calling them both - I think they are both freephone numbers. Please, please don't be ashamed - its nothing to be ashamed of, millions of people are on lots of debt and at least you are trying to sort it out.
In the meantime, just try and stay strong (easier said than done I know) but you have made the first step - so well done you :T and well done for contacting Hosing and Council Tax Benefit - thats a step in the right direction.
Keep posting and take care
