What's weird - I had an email asking me how one of my deliveries went. (that was after a perfect delivery)
The next one wasn't smooth but I didn't get any email this time!

Got a call tonight from Yodel to tell me that my the box my delivery was in from amazon had got wet but contents were ok. The contents were a pair of Vans, headphones and DVD's. they then told me that the Vans shoe box was wet but the shoes were ok!!!!! I refused delivery. I am fuming because my order is now over £10 more on Amazon than when I ordered. Going call in morning and complain.

well personally that seems a decent way to deal with it.
They have informed you and saved you the hassle of returning
Amazon will no doubt replace,so the different price is no issue to you
packets get wet unfortunately, often from stuff leaking from other peoples packets!

Agreed. It's inconvenient but less hassle than delivery plus return, and in this case the mishap - and mishaps will always happen in any business - has been managed as well as can be expected

"Missed" my Yodel delivery from Amazon yesterday - strange as no knock or even card through the door yet showed as attempted delivery...
Was given the option for redelivery today, which I booked and which strangely didn't seem to work.
Have a different parcel out for delivery today - I won't hold my breath...

In the end I had my Prime parcels 3 and 4 days late. As I hadn't had a card through my door, I did all the chasing via Amazon, who did all the liaison for me as I don't think my blood pressure could have stood it :o

Now this is the fundamental breach of contact I keep banging on about. Prime is a premium service, which costs extra (albeit bundled in a trial of premium services sometimes).

Assuming Amazon reciprocate the express delivery timescales in their contract with Yodel, then Yodel are taking money for a service that in some cases they are not even coming close to fulfilling - 3 or 4 days late on a premium service is APPALLING and nothing short of fraudulent mis-selling by Yodel. We're not talking about a 1 day accidental slip here.

Amazon are known to send items via 1st class on Prime
So it would need to be clarified exactly what service Amazon use.
just because they charge a premium, doesnt mean its a different service/contract with their carriers

Agreed, in which case that would be fraudulent mis-selling by Amazon if they have stated "next day delivery" without a reciprocal contract with their courier.

Some companies prominently say in their advertising order by * pm for next day delivery.

(hidden away in their terms they say they can't guarantee a delivery)
