I've not done it since
The following day of my fast I got the heaviest horriblest chesty cold which is still with me now (maybe the headache was part of that) - the thought of fasting whilst under the weather is not appealing at the moment.
Yes you should hold off any drastic diet changes until you're over that, its nasty virus going round at moment and my family still trying to shift the cough 3 wks later!
Hope you will try again though when better and not let it discourage you.
Having my second fast day this week and doing ok. Still went over the 500 cals slightly on tuesday but know it will take time to change my diet that drastically. Think its helping out my IBS a bit though. Will see what scales say saturdayHome Schooling mum budgeting for 2 adults, 2 teens, 2 little ones & 3 cats

Was going to have my 3rd fast day today & then realised I've got a fasting blood test tomorrow. Its not as early as I'd like so I'm going to do my fast tomorrow instead as I was a little concerned that if I fasted today and most of tomorrow morning it could throw my results out.
Does that sound like skewed logicSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Lucky you, I didn't think I ate that much over Christmas but put on 5lbs in a week:eek::eek: Now have to set about losing it:(
It's just impossible to avoid overdoing things at Christmas, isn't it? We did most of our visiting/socialising over coffee instead of over lunch or dinner, which made a difference, I think.
So much more fun putting it on....still, fast day today so can have a biccie with my tea tomorrow0 -

No, it makes perfect sense.....
It Could be an interesting baseline for you to look back at your fasting blood sugars and triglycerides in a few months time if you get the chance!I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
bit the bullet & got out the scales & measuring tape this morning - have been off work for best part of 3 weeks with this nasty lurgy, which resulted in anti-biotics, no exercise as could barely breathe, & hanging around the house over Christmas with all the nice food around has been hell on my weight loss - have gained 7lb!! - felt really despondent as it meant I'd crept back over the 11st mark but had a look at my weight in January 2012 & 2011 & even with the weight gain I'm still 10lb & 17lb less respectively so it could be worse. First fast day of 2013 today even though I'm still home, am now able to walk the dogs & will be back in work on Monday, I usually do a Monday & Friday as they're our 2 busiest days & keep me occupied, hopefully the rest of the staff would have eaten all the Xmas goodies. So next Saturday morning will weigh in after 3 fast days & hope for at leasr 3lb, as this will put me back in the 10's & give me a psychological boost.0

Well, I'm back to fasting now after pausing for the holidays, I'm on my 3rd fast day. Decided to fast Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the time being and finding it pretty easy so far. Been letting myself have 400-500 cals on fast days but hoping to evenutally get to having a total food fast on the fasting days. I've lost 4lbs so far this week. Not sure how skewed that is as I weighed myself yesterday morning after a fast day on Wednesday, but it's good for motivation.0

If people don't mind, could they post their fast day meals (with approximate calorific values if possible) so that others can get ideas.... Thanks!A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
According to recent research, the approximate normal daily caloric requirement for an average male who performs light activity is 2,200; for a female, it is 1,900.Balance in it is good for health.0
