    Hey Guys!!!

I joined this forum to get advice on FASTING DIETS not LOW CARBS - there is another forum for these sort of discussions so can you please all vent your opinions over on that and leave this one for those who are needing better advice on Fasting.

    A very polite thank you.

Surviving lol, can't remember the last time I felt truly hungry like this. It makes you realise how lucky we are when there's so many in the world with limited food.

Anyway, had a mug shot at lunch time which was delicious lol, mid afternoon a cup of black coffee which gave me the shakes and a funny head. Got in from work and had a shape yoghurt which leaves me about 180 calls left for later. I seem to have passed the hunger point at the moment but have had a wooly/slight headache all day.

I'm hoping the fast days will get easier to be honest...:)

How have you been getting on? Any more headaches or shakes?

It takes between 10 days and 3 weeks for your body to get used to the new regime, so she is probably isn't out of the woods for feeling funny.
A few months on, I can honestly say that it has become quite easy during the day. But I do look forward to my evening meal (personal choice to have just the ne, initially I ate lunch as well).
And on feast days, I eat whatever I fancy. Including wine and chocolate...

If you are on the diet for the health benefit, this could be achievable by eating no more than the guideline of proteins 0.8 g/ kg of body weight, according to this research which was cited in the new scientist article on the fasting diets http://http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1474-9726.2008.00417.x/abstract

I've had entirely guilt free pizza and two rum and ginger ales this evening as a first-day-back-at-uni treat, happy in the knowledge that tomorrow is a fast day. I even took a week off over Christmas, ate all around me and still only gained a pound, which is gone already.

Some fast days are harder than others, but I love this way of eating. I feel great and there's no food forbidden, which would only make me want it more!

Anyone find that for want of a better term their kidney function and throughput increases massively on fast days or is it just me?

I thought it was because I was drinking more!
( but always surprised to see how yellow it was, if you excuse the details...)

Yeah, I found the colour a bit  yesterday too!

First fast day yesterday wasn't as hard as I thought. I didn't eat enough cals though, I had 360 all day, but I will be better prepared for Thursday. I like the co op meal deals, soup 65 cals and king prawn noodle salad 140 cals x 2 is my plan for Thursday, that leaves me with 100 for drinks, but I will be drinking green tea and myfitnesspal say that's 0 cals, so I will have 2 oranges/clemantines.

Today has been a feast day, I had poached eggs on toast for breakfast and then savoury rice for lunch. Chicken, chips and salad for tea. But I have eaten 3 chocs :p;)

Tomorrow is a feast day too ...... bet the box of chocs is empty come the end of tomorrow ready for fast day :rotfl:

Had a raging headache too, but I think that was lack of fluid in the evening.

You don't HAVE to eat the full 500 kcals.
But it's nice to know you can when feeling peckish.:D
I no longer count or measure what I eat. I know roughly from the first few fast days and I believe I am generally under the 500.

I know, but I could have eaten something else as I felt hungry before I went to bed. I was ok till 4pm (yesterday) and then hunger really set in. I will probably do the same on Thursday, just drink green tea till about 4pm and then space the food out over the evening.
