I'm fasting today too so I'll keep you company
I didn't officially fast last week as I had a nasty virus. Mind you I didn't have much outside of soup and ice lollies anyway.
Sometimes on fast days I'll only eat my 500 (or fewer) cals in the evening, other days i will have 40g porridge at breakfast time and around 250-300 cals in the evening. Today is one of those days.
So far I have lost 2.5 stone (since the beginning of June)
I'd like to lose another stone - which would bring me down to 10.5 stone.
It's nice now when people are commenting on my loss. I really should buy some smaller clothes too as these are looking a bit ridiculous on me now. I can almost fit another person in with me!Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Fasting for me too today. No weight loss for me last week unfortunately but that doesn't bother me too much. Don't know why but my Monday fast day always seems slightly harder than my Thursday fast day but that may be because I possibly over-indulge at the weekend.
I am going to try my ("Go 30") gym tonight as well to see how I fare. I read somewhere that your body benefits from working out while fasting (not too sure why!) but I think I should be able to get through a 30 minute work-out with no problems. Don't think I could cope with my usual 90 minute work-out at the 'proper' gym though.

Anyone using Jane Plan food for their fasting days?
I'm doing Jane plan fulltime at the moment and the food is great and easy to stick too. But I am interested in going 5:2 when I have less to lose and maintaining.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
5:2 isn't really for maintaining, if you get to that stage try 6:1 instead if you want to try it.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

So funny, I was thinking the same. I have another 2 stone or so to lose, and I'm thinking about buying new clothes while furiously tightening all my belts.Being a skinflint however I'm considering making a few pieces instead, although I do have a sewing machine, I've never actually made anything, so that should be interesting.
Anyway, I'd say that having lost 2.5 stone that you deserve to wear clothes that actually fit you, treat yourself.:)

Fast day today here as well, managed on just water and black tea till just having my evening meal. I find I can mange missing breakfast no problem, but get hungry from around 1 pm onward. So I go and do something, anything physical. Gardening is great and the time seems to pass quickly, but as it gets colder and wetter, there will be less to do outside. Going to make a list of stuff to do before Christmas and have a big declutter for then as well.
If I feel a bit off, or am really starving will have a mug of soup as a light lunch.
I didn't do the waist measurements, just weighed myself. I wish I had done the measurements though as some weeks my middle is definitely slimmer even though very little shows on the scale.
Mind you I have been going through the old pairs of pants/jeans. Went from only fitting into joggers, through a really tight pair of size 20 cords-which now fall down when I put them on!!!, through a few others till now sat in some size 14 leggings that had sat in a bottom drawer for years.

Hi
Did my second fast day on Friday. I still haven't weighed myself so no idea if I've lost weight or not. I suspect not, so it's probably just as well I haven't weighed myself and gotten demotivated. I'll keep going anyway as I find it ok to do and if nothing else, it's saving me money! Friday was a bit tough especially the evening, must try to avoid fasting on a Friday. Went to M&S for a few bits of food and I was practically drooling over the fridges...
If all goes to plan I'll be fasting Tuesday and Thursday this week.
Gwen
I don't know about anyone else, but the biggest thing for me about 5:2 is that these sort of drooling/craving feelings al la homer simpson have for the first time been broken.
The first few fasts were hard and yes I yearned for sweet stuff, especially chocolate. I found having a small treat to look forward to later on-say 2 squares of dark chocolate seemed to help.
Then a few weeks in on a non fast day I suddenly realised my fav choc biscuits were in the cupboard and I hadn't thought about them all day. I also found I stopped having a strong craving for something sweet after a meal. I am talking mouth watering feeling driven cravings.
Don't get me wrong I still like cake/chocolate and sweet things and can enjoy them, I am just not obsessed with them once baked/bought and don't feel compelled to have them in the way I did.

Fasting today
I envy people who can sew, I wouldn't make a handkerchief for a blind person. Knitting and crochet I can do.
I should go out and get some stuff really. I had to get smaller knickers as my others were actually falling down :eek:Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Hey all,
Well done to the weight losers :T
I've got my own head sorted now and fasted today, calorie count = 498
I had 2 coffees in the morning, an apple at lunchtime and for supper I had a small piece of chicken and a pile of peas, carrots and broccoli. I really appreciated and enjoyed that meal.
I also drank loads of water during the day today and wonder if last weeks fails were because I was actually thirsty a lot of the time and just thought I was hungry.
Good luck to everyone fasting tomorrow !SAVER0 -
