Did a zero calorie fast yesterday. Still quite tough to get through the day without any food, but an early night and knowing that I don't really need to worry about calories the next day helps.
Oh, I lost 1 stone :j0 -

You will get it in KRK in Woodlands Road or in some of the Asian shops on Great Western Road towards St George's X or on Allison St in Govanhill (I just remembered you were in Glasgow).
Thanks! I'm in Shawlands so can get to the place on Allison street no problem!
Well, 1.5lbs off for me today. Wasn't expecting quite so much as I raided the buffet at an engagement party over the weekend...I just can't resist a buffet!! Thank god for fast days!
Only 2.5lbs to lose to get to my target weight, however I think I'll lose an extra couple of lbs as I'm off to NYC in 5 weeks and would like to have a few to play with!0 -
Well after a bad few weeks over the summer hols with some fast days going wrong-but surprisingly although no losses, no gains in weight either. Back on the wagon and a pound off this week, total since spring 2 stone 8lb.
Anyone else favour leaving eating till in the evening on fast days?
I started out having a light lunch-say a cup of veg soup or broth, but found I was feeling really hungry about 2-3pm. Now I have nothing till my evening meal and actually am finding it a lot easier. I also get kind of a high in the afternoon when I feel really good and sort of energised. I do drink plenty in the day and if I feel very hungry at any point will have a tea with a splash of milk or a fruit tea with no added sugar to take the edge off. I find at lunch time if I feed the kids and OH (or whoever is home depending on the day), then forget about food and deliberately go and do a job, preferably physical I forget about food and the hunger goes away. I have wondered if it would be easier when you go out to work lol, although no doubt that has issues of its own.

Oh, I am terrible with buffets!!
Now I really crave one!I could I am not on fast, but would have to travel to one... and also I put 1lb back on during the long weekend away... shoudn't really be surprised.
Everyone seems to be mentioning sweet potatoes around me at the moment.. I am a fan, but OH doesn't normaly like them much. I only ever mashed them, as just boiled we don't like the texture. If I make chips like described, does it make any difference to the texture?
Or anyone uses them in sauces?
Are they really that good for 5:2?
Thank you0 -

You are right there.... sometimes there is boredom (my workload goes up and down) and there is always a temptation! There are catering leftovers sometimes, sweets and biscuits being offered around, someones birthday....
I am not sure I would manage to the night... I know what you mean by the afternoon hunger, but I would just get it mid morning instead!!0 -
Afternoon all!
I haven't fasted so far this week like I said with me being away, and I'm not going to lie, I definitely over indulged. Mum baked enough for about 50 people, one day we went to Betty's for lunch and on another we had a pub dinner and this morning we had a fry upThoroughly enjoyed it but am definitely feeling VERY guilty.
So I'm going to fast tomorrow then at least I'll have done 1 this week.0 -

To you maybe but I know I have times when I feel ill and I don't want to eat anything. I've had illness when the mere thought of food makes me feel worse.
I don't think you can be as judgmental as that and say outright it's idiotic when you don't know the cause of someone's illness.0 -
The sicker I get the more I fast
Just give me water then leave me alone to get better.0 -
Here's a few recipes for sweet potato oven chips (or fries)

I don't think that's what Chameleon meant.
Obviously if you don't feel like eating or the actual food makes you feel ill it's different hen if you purposely fast but need some strenght to make you feel better...
That is how I took her post anyway.0
