  • I am fasting today too, something including tuna steak and broccoli is planned for tonight. I will do a metafit class tonight too.

Fast day for me too. Was ravenous when I woke up this morning but it seems to have passed now thankfully!

Maybe TMI but I've had some toilet issues this week...in that I haven't been for days...anyone else get this? I try to get plenty of fibre as I've heard before it can be a fasting side effect but it's not worked this week obviously. I feel a bit bloated, is there anything I can do?? Usually going for a run helps me but I can't do that yet as my back isn't 100%!

Again, sorry for sharing too much! haha!

    Fasting here today too.
Tomato soup for lunch and prawn curry for dinner. Looking forward to it.
Had a bit too much wine last night, definitely not up to much today!

Coffee is good as G&D points out and if that doesn't do the trick or if you have an Indian grocer's near you I can recomend telephone brand psyllium husk.

  • Thank you, I will investigate the psyllium husk as I don't drink coffee at all! What do you usually do with it? Is it like a powder or is it capsule form??

You could always use the response an exasperated Mrs G used once...

"No, I'm not eating anything. Do you think I get to stay looking like this by stuffing my face at every opportunity?"

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Good for her :D

Hi guys, im hoping you might be able to answer a couple of my questions as i cant find the answers anywhere.

When fasting, can you have hot water with a slice of lemon in? I am thinking you cant due to the sugar in fruits etc but cant seem to find a conclusive answer anywhere. Also can you have sweetners in your coffee on fast days?

I know these sound like really stupid questions but i would just like to know for sure.

    Thanks :)

You can have whatever you want as long as you include the calories in your allowance. Don't try to make it complicated as that's more likely to lead to you getting fed up and giving up. Count calories on fast days, try to stick to about 500/600 (female/male) and forget about it for the rest of the week.
Some of the posters on here have been doing this for ages, lost a lot of weight and are clearly interested in the finer points of nutrition, but you don't need to bother with that for it to work.

It's a powder you stir it up in a full glass or mug of cold water let is stand for a couple of minutes and drink it, it's just a plant husk* that is very rich in soluble fibre. It tastes of nothing.

You will get it in KRK in Woodlands Road or in some of the Asian shops on Great Western Road towards St George's X or on Allison St in Govanhill (I just remembered you were in Glasgow).

    Hi there Fasters

Fast day for me today. A couple of white coffees, a Be Good To Yourself Tomato cup-a-soup and a Feel Fuller For Longer Green Thai curry meal from M&S. I find the hardest part is not having anything else after my meal on a fast day - early nights are good to avoid temptation.

This is week three. I have no idea if I've lost anything as I haven't weighed myself. I'm worried that I haven't. Last week I thought my clothes felt a little looser, but I've been eating quite a lot on feed days recently and now I think my clothes feel 'normal' again. I don't know. Things are pretty busy with work at the moment. I'll try and get to the gym at the weekend and weigh myself while I'm there.

    Hope you're all doing well.

    Gx

Well had a good fast on Tuesday and will have a semi fast today as am really thinking of maintaining now, as my DW doesn't want my legs to get any thinner :D
Really happy with the weight I have lost and the fact I can have a bath with my stomach under the water:rotfl: its also not a problem anymore getting something out of the fridge and getting up again .

So anyway not bothered about negative views on this diets/WOL , it works for me and many of you :T
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish :)

Had a very good fast day yesterday - ended up with baked tuna with a garlic stuffed orange chillie, baked broccoli and sweet potato oven chips (1 sweet potato chopped, 2 sprays oil and a good pinch of Dunn's River seasoning). The dogs helped with the tuna (well the eating part).

I missed Metafit so did Body Combat Express instead.
