  • Well I didn't lose a sausage this week, very strange.

Anyway overall I've managed to lose 9.5lb in a month doing Alternate Day Fasting. :)

Think I'll have to start moving my butt too.

Hello all! How is everyone today? Anyone else fasting besides myself today?

I've only had some cherry toms at work so I'm going to do myself a prawn curry later which I'm really looking forward to.

With regards to hormones and monthly cycles I'm afraid I can't be a reliable witness. I have that depot injection every 12 weeks which completely stops my monthlies so I can't tell if anything's irregular or not.

But it's certainly worth keeping an eye on. I might ask the nurse about it next time I get it done. I might just carry on with 5:2 until I get in the Army or until I'm at a weight I'm happy with, whichever comes first. :)

Well done A, on quitting smoking and the debt-busting. Hopefully there'll be a bit less of both us by Christmas!

    Thanks Gwen80,

I remember you from DFW days :)

It would be fab indeed if there was less of us both by Christmas. I'll be very cold otherwise, none of my winter wardrobe fits :o :rotfl:

I fasted on Monday and I went over by 50 cals ... took an apple to work in case I got hungry, and in spite of drinking loads of water, it was a manic morning so I did need 'something' - very glad I took it.

Feed day today and surprisingly I didn't wake up hungry and haven't craved sugar at all. I think that's the root of my problems - sugar addiction.

Another feed day tomorrow ( Wednesdays & Weekends are Gin & Tonic nights :D) then I'll be fasting either Thursday or Friday.

Hope tomorrow is successful for those fasting

well i have been doing this for only a week now and i havent lost anything....but hey this is a marathon not a sprint so no matter.
What i have found though is that i am sleeping better and feel more awake during the day and i am dropping off quicker so very happy about that, although i think with the water i am drinking i feel like a fish lol
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

  • I'm fasting today too. I've looked into the hormone issues and I just can't find anything definitive so I've decided to stick with it until I've reached my target and then re-evaluate. Hopefully it should only be a couple of months max!

Don't know what I'm having for dinner later as I've not done a big shop yet so will pick something up on my way home. Have ordered the second Hairy Dieters book as well so looking forward to getting that and trying some new recipes!

    I am fasting today too.
Meant to make homemade chicken soup last night for lunch, but unfortunately didn't have enough time.
So Tesco light choices soup it is and then in the evening we are trying one of the recipes from 5:2 diet book - pizza with wrap base, thought OH doesn't like wraps so we have Chappati instead (130kcal a piece, then just tom. puree on it, tomatoes, reduced fat mozzarela cheese and little bit of reduced fat feta cheesse, little spinach leaves and bake). The chapati looks quite big...

Webitha I only lost 1lb in the first 10 days, but I notice clothes fit me better in the waist. I also sleep better - in such a deep sleep! Don't have more energy yet though... on fast days I am still little sluggish.
  • Fast day for me too. I've been having tofu shirataki noodles, 40 calories a bag recently, but I'm all out of those, so a big salad and prawns it will be tonight I think.

I'm usually a terrible sleeper, but fasting seems to have helped for me too, and wrap pizzas, nom nom, nom.

I lost one pound this week, so that's 5 lbs in 2 weeks :)

Had a small glass of milk at bedtime on my last fast day and it stopped me waking up hungry at 4am.

I have enough courgette soup in the freezer to sink the Queen Mary, so will be sticking to that for my fast day dinners with porridge and fruit for breakfast.

    Hi there

First fast day for me today. Finally bit the bullet. I had two coffees with milk this morning, a Be Good to Yourself cup-a-soup at lunchtime and I've had a couple of fruit teas this afternoon. Have felt headachey this afternoon and if I'm honest, food has dominated my thoughts all day. I'm hoping it will get easier and that I won't binge tomorrow.

Planned for tonight, I was thinking of having an omelette with some stuff in, but it all depends on calories. I was thinking of putting some bacon in, pepper, mushrooms, onion with a side salad of leaves and cherry tomatoes and if enough calories, a light Babybel melted on top of the omelette. I need to tot it all up though and see what it comes to.

How many calories is a woman allowed on a fast day? My TDEE is 1975.

    Thanks

    Gwen
