I'm eating today ladies, but will be thinking of you.

Just had blueberries with Lidl yoghurt, the one with bits of chocolate in it. I'll be back from heaven in a sec.

I've just been reading Michael Mosley's book and blueberries have fat busting properties!:)

Are you saying you have to have 500 calories to exercise? or stay under? I'm fairly sure I stayed under as all I had all day was about 5 cups of tea, milk no sugar.

Sorry, what I meant was that you can't go above it just because you are exercising.

I think tesuhoha just means that no matter what exercise you do/how much you do, still stick to the 500 calories.

Some people often think that if, for example, they burn 250cals exercising, they can eat an extra 250cals. Whereas they should just stick to 500.

Exactly what I meant to say:)

Brilliant!! Blueberries are a staple for me :).

Was meant to be a fast day today but I had a headache and so needed to eat. Will change to tomorrow instead.

I found a clip of you tube which was titled the The Fast Guide to the Fast diet for people too lazy to read the book, lol. Thinking I'll change to breakfast and dinner rather than lunch...although not sure how that will go when I'm back at work. Might have to take an emergency piece of fruit!

Not sure if you can post clips on here....been a long time since I read the rules so sorry if so. Thought it might be interesting for those who haven't read the book yet. :)

I started the diet before the book was even published, no need to read the book.

So how's it going everyone? Except for one or two signatures, I can't tell, but I did notice the thread is just a few days over a year old - is the weight loss going well for the folks who have been doing it for a year?

Not for me. I lost weight to start with but after six months of 5:2 or 4:3 some weeks, I was back to pretty much where where I started.

I had a break for July and have now started 4:3 again (fast Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.) This time I am limiting calorie intake on the non-fast days as well. Early results are encouraging... but then, early results usually are.

I think the 'eat what you like on non fast days' is very ambiguous. Some people's normal eating may be another person's binge (not saying that yours is). But it is not always clear what we should be eating. Have you tried a higher fat diet on non fast days? In trials it was found that people on high fat did better than those on low fat. It took me a long long time to lose the weight (a stone and a half) and there were long periods when I lost nothing, then I would dip down again. Also maybe you should check that you are actually only eating 600 calories on fast days (I seem to remember you are male). Do you cheat. If you are on 4:3 it is probably more wearisome than 5:2. Perhaps if you stuck to 5:2 it would work better.

So did I but I am reading the book now to refresh as it was on special offer.
