1940sgal - I love autumnal food. And this is my danger time of year where I tend to pile on the pounds. The actual meals I cook are fine - but its when I add the piles of mashed potato, pasta, bread and butter with it it add the calories. and puddings - I love puddings.

I think I'll need two low cal days to recover from all the stodge!

haha yeah me too! Then the blackberries come in to season and I find myself making crumbles far too often! :o

You can exercise but must still stick to the 500/600 calories of your fast (depending on whether you are male or female). The reason I know this is because I saw a tweet where Michael Mosley was asked the same question.

Are you saying you have to have 500 calories to exercise? or stay under? I'm fairly sure I stayed under as all I had all day was about 5 cups of tea, milk no sugar.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • I have done body pump, body combat and metafit fasted but only one at a time. Some fitness people recommend training in a fasted state.

Good to know. I'm fairly new to Bodypump, only done it a few times so I think I have the lightest weights in the class, and though I've done some weight training in the past I still find it really challenging! I was curious to see if it would be harder in a fasted state. I did the same class the next day (not fasting) and in comparison I think it was actually harder on the 2nd day but maybe that was just cause I incredibly sore from the day before!

I think tesuhoha just means that no matter what exercise you do/how much you do, still stick to the 500 calories.

Some people often think that if, for example, they burn 250cals exercising, they can eat an extra 250cals. Whereas they should just stick to 500.

    Stay under.

Morning all fasting today, anyone else joining me? :p
  • I'm fasting today too. Feeling slightly peckish already which doesn't usually happen to me til at least lunch time. Think I need to drink some more water!

I'm eating today ladies, but will be thinking of you.

Just had blueberries with Lidl yoghurt, the one with bits of chocolate in it. I'll be back from heaven in a sec.

    Hello

DH and I started the 5:2 diet last week, we had our 3rd fast day yesterday. Not sure why I didn't think of looking on here for other peeps who were doing it before now. :money:

Although I don't worry too much on a normal day, I am much more aware of snacking (which is my biggest weakness). I remind myself that I managed not to have 'that' bowl of cereal in the evening while watching TV on the fasting day, so do I REALLY need it today.... ;)

I'm not weighing myself at home regularly, I'm mainly looking to see how my clothes feel and fit.

We had a 'wellbeing' lady come to our work and you could sign up for a slot with her. I had to stand on a weight machine thingy that also sends an electrical pulse through you to see how much of your weight is fat/bone density/muscle density, what your visceral fat level is and what your hydration levels are.

It was very interesting, although a little disturbing to see how much of me is fat!!! I am now working on losing 2 1/2 to 3 stone of fat, the only way I'll know if I've been truly successful is by getting weighted on the special machine again to see how much it's gone down.

I have around 25/50 calories of fruit for breakfast, 200 calories for lunch and the rest for dinner. DH has around 250/300 calories for breakfast and the rest for dinner. Although he does suffer from the 'grumps' when he doesn't have lunch!! :o

Like many of you have said, it's actually quite an easy diet to stick too. I'm really enjoying it and it's making me much more conscious of all the naughty things I'm shoving in my cake hole the rest of the time!! ;)
