I completed my first week of fasting.

It actually works better for me to save 500 cals until the evening but I started flagging about 5:30 so I may have it around 4pm. I didn't feel hungry all evening and treated myself to a mini milk!

Feeling surprisingly good about myself today and the scales are going in the right direction but I will wait until the weekend to document it!

1.5lbs off at my official weigh in today - very pleased with that! A wee bit closer to target!

:hello: to the newbies! Good luck on your weight loss journeys, I'm sure you'll all do great :)

I've fasted today. So so tired today so bought a red wine beef casserole thingy from M&S. Very nice!

I'm going to do some food shopping tomorrow though and I've reclaimed my Hairy Dieters book from Dad. So I'm going to cook some good stuff up and freeze some batches.

Has anyone here who has the book tried the Tuna with Spaghetti? I really fancy that so bought some frozen tuna steaks from Aldi (cheaper than fresh I bet!)

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to Saturday morning and weigh in because I'm feeling good and I think I'll see another couple of lbs off :D

i started my fasting on Sunday night at 7pm and found the 500 cals until 8am Tuesday morning ok.

However my second fast day today I have found absolutely horrendous, I started at 5pm last night and have been really tired all day, sickly had to have something to eat at 2pm even though I had eaten 170 calories at 8am.

I have just had a meal of cod and HM spicy cauli and think I have had about 550 calories.

Will make it to tomorrow morning now though. I am hoping that I will lost between 8lbs to a stone but not worried about timescale more that I will keep it off

I dont eat meat but eat fish, wondered if any one could give me ideas of what they eat that are filling and obviously low calorie

    thanks

Just to encourage you guys, my other half has lost just over 2 stone on the 5:2, in about 10 months. Now doing just one day a week, then one day every two weeks to get rid of the last 2/3lbs. He saw his GP yesterday and he is well impressed with just how great he looks now...me too :) It's the only diet he ever stuck too and it really did work for him.

Evening everyone! Today has been a fast day for me. I saved all my calories until after 5pm and surprisingly felt not too bad doing it this way. I usually HAVE to eat breakfast . I suppose it could have just been a one off, but I may try the same again Monday.

Dinner was a lovely fillet of chicken baked with Rosemary, french beans and courgettes. I also had enough calories for a new potato :j Well done to everyone else who fasted today!

Hi, I've been trying to start this diet properly for ages, but why does my hubby, keep buying me ice cream, or some other rubbish I can't resist, on my fast days!!! I lost a few pounds and felt really good but now I've put it back on again. So, from today, I am going to RESIST. My biggest problem is stress though and my pain gets worse when I don't eat for some reason. Keep up the good work everyone..:)

I didn't lose anything this week but have been very indulgent! At least I've maintained and not put any on either, my husband is on holiday so we've been out and about and eating lots! Be glad when I get back to it next week, good luck to anyone fasting today :)

The secret is to tell yourself its only one day at a time that you have to get through and then you can eat the next day. You have to think that its a cast iron solid rule on one day to eat no more than 500 calories. To your husband say no thank you I'm on a fasting day but you can buy me an ice cream tomorrow and I'll be glad of it. He will soon get used to the rules if you stick to them.
