But, if you find that too difficult and prefer to spread your meal through the day, then fine. Don't beat yourself up about it, you're still reducing your overall daily intake which has to be better than the alternative
It's actually my husband who's doing it, but I just come on here for handy tips and advice
The way he's doing it is the Michael Mosley way (or a slight variant on it).
Today is one of his fast days, and we are having a salmon stir fry, it's one of our favourite meals anyhow!0 -
I agree, the 36 hour method is best for full health benefits and weight loss but I think consuming less cals over the day, however you split it, means your body has to produce less insulin in a day? It definitely is better for weight loss, after a bit of a plateau recently I lost 4.5lbs today after reverting back to one meal in 36 hours.0

Not been on for a couple of month's but its good to see the same and some new names posting. I've been maintaining which considering I've failed for about the last six weeks is not too bad! I've been out cycling as much as I can so am sure this has helped.
I'm off work for two weeks now and have managed to get two fasts in this week so really happy, and visiting this page has given me the inspiration to get back into it.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Morning all
Had a good fast day yesterday, weighed this morning and I'm a couple of pounds above my target! Really happy
To add my mite to the discussion - reading Michael's book again, it seems the jury's out about the optimum way to do this because there hasn't been enough research yet. So although they think a longer fast is better, there's no evidence to support or oppose that.
So why not do what works for you without getting too hung up on the details. Some people can manage 24 hours between meals, some can't, but however you do IF you know it's doing you good long-term.

Well weigh in this morning and no change this week, but all is good as bought a pair of 36" jeans yesterday, did want some shorts but think I left it a bit late to lose weight this year as none in my new size, though did seem to be some in my old size above 40"
.
Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier
Total Loss=41.6lb0 -
Weight in this morning, really surprised! Being off work this week, I have totally pigged out, only one proper fast day and lots of cider, crisps, flapjack and other junk and still lost 1lb :j0

Well done! Seeing a loss when you know you've been naughty is always great.
I'm hoping I see the same tomorrow because I've been naughty this week too. Fasting today though. Going to have a big meal before I go to work then take some cherry toms with me for this evening.0 -
Afternoon everyone. Well my fast day was ok yesterday but I somehow managed to go over by 100 or so cals. It was the naughty ice lolly I had because it was so hot.
However, so pleased to report just over 1 lb lost this week, so hopefully I'm on a bit of a roll and the downward trend may continue.
While being stuck for a good few weeks I found it helped me to keep reminding myself of the lbs I had already lost. Between DH and myself we have lost 50lbs in 6 months! It is these reminders that keep me going on the less productive weeks.
Good luck to today's fasters! Onwards and downwards!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Evening! I'm not long in from work. Had a few cherry toms but otherwise haven't eaten since before I left.
I decided against being lazy and made myself a super easy, and as it turned out super tasty dinner.
Took two cloves of garlic, some dried mixed herbs, 2 light dairylea triangles and 1/2 tsp of olive oil and fried them all in a pan.
Then coated two small pieces of chicken in the above mixture, wrapped each in 1/2 a slice of Mortadella and cooked them in the oven for 25 minutes. Had it with a salad.
It was so creamy and scrumptious and came in under 300cals!0 -
Love the sound of that recipe 1940sgal, will try that one.
today I'm going to try fasting all day with just water or fruit teas.
Going food shopping shortly so that should be fun!Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
