That's me told :rotfl:
I like 'em too and now I'll have to get some tomorrow cos I'm fasting today. Drat.
Tesuhoha not to worryI think we're in agreement about most of it though clearly I'm still new to this
aw sorry was only joking
enjoy the pink n whites when you get them, very mse too at only 50p for 60 -
Whether fruit is better for you is debatable anyway as it is filled with fructose which we are told is just as damaging as glucose.
But the 5:2 diet is not a restrictive diet. There are no rules. We are talking about the diet Michael Mosley introduced us to on the Horizon programme and any talk of what's good for you and what is not is irrelevant here.
What is good for us doesn't need to be preached. If you are not dedicated to this diet then there is no point of posting on this thread, no one is going to take any notice. Only people who are practising this way of eating know the health benefits that are derived from it and anyone on the outside does not know what they are talking about.
I think that people posting on this thread against fasting probably work for the diet industry and do not like it because it actually works. Lets face it if everyone doing Weightwatchers tried this way of eating then Weightwatchers would go bust.
There is a certain irony when you say a fasting diet is not a restrictive diet
I like some of Michael Moseley's programs but at the end of the day he is a journalist making money and recommending slimming world wouldnt be good for ratings or his pocket.
i am against fasting because of the fact that whatever anyone says it is a starvation diet and even if there are any hormonal changes these can be obtained with a few minutes visualisation.
Why would weight watchers try it? They get just as good results in the short term but in the same way they hit a wall and find it more difficult as time goes on. In a way Weight watchers is very similar in that it is a commercial calorie controlled diet but controlling in a different way.
Anyway one cannot show blinkered people anything so that is me done. You might notice I havent been selling any rival products or methods but was here out of a passion to see people reach their goals free of conmen and money making fad diets but it isnt really working so bye bye.I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. I have this terrible knack of seeing people off. :shocked:The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

There are no con men here or money making - it costs me less because I eat less! This diet is restrictive for 2 days a week not 7 which is why it works, I am not feeling deprived or lacking in anything. It can be very demoralising to realise that you can't have that chocolate or cake or anything else you would like because it's too fattening/calorific/nutritionally deficient!
I have managed to lose just over 3 stone in 3 months by eating this way. It isn't suitable for everyone but it's working for me so I will continue :cool:0 -
Well I'm very pleased to report a 3lb loss this week! 12stone 9lb which means exactly 2stone lost on 5:2 since February
2stone 9lb lost overall and only 9lb away from my first goal of 140 :j:j:j
EDIT: I meant 10 stone 9, not 12 stone 9. That would have been a feat, losing 2 stone and staying the same weighthaha

Ooh I am happy to find that I have lost a bit more weight this week, with nearly another 1lb off. I am thinking (hoping) things are on the move again and I'm off the plateau for a bit. Glad to see everyone is doing so well. My next fast day is Monday.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin
5:2 Diet started 28/1/2013 only 13lbs lost due to Xmas 2013 blip.0 -
Waving to all your successes from the top of my 11st 3lbs plateau. Been camping here awhile now, plugging away fasting 2 days a week, hoping the heatwave has triggered water retention that will melt away soon.

I know how that feels! As I'm sure most here do. It will pass and you'll be back on the weight loss road soon.
May I offer a suggestion though? From about the end of April to the end of May my weight loss slowed right down and I hardly shifted any weight. For the whole of June I just didn't bother trying and then I started back again at the beginning of this month and my weight's started shifting again.
So perhaps taking a break could help? Maybe have a couple of weeks off?0 -

Many thanks for the good idea. I'm due to fast tomorrow, may see how the day goes, have been leaving out all sugar this weekend and discovered my calorie count is well down without feeling hungry, having stuck with eggs, fish, veg, some fruit.
Every day is a new adventure! :T:hello:0
